Both 20-year-old Leigh and her young 8-year-old son Gordon Gebbert are innocent and charming. Robert Mitchum departed from his usual machismo in to make this seasonal romantic comedy. The film was such a flop that RKO backed out of it’s contract with director Don Hartman. However, HOLIDAY AFFAIR has become a popular Christmas movie over the years thanks to regular TV broadcasts during the holiday season.
