OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

Original Columbia Pictures One Sheet Poster (27×41) for the Edward Bernds romantic comedy, HAREM GIRL (1952) starring Joan Davis, Peggie Castle, and Arthur Blake. This film has popular comedienne of the time Joan Davis going to the middle east with an exotic princess and subbing for her in a marraige deal with an unpleasant sheik. The writers as well as the director were Three Stooges veterans; so, the comedy is non-stop and quite good. The poster is in very good condition with obvious theater-use; some small pinholes, a bit dirty and edge wear.

Fox used this low-budget film as a co-feature for its horror blockbuster THE FLY (1958). The British poster is a stone litho. Relatively late for this printing method — and the art is different, more charming than the U.S. posters. The poster is folded and in fine plus to very fine condition. A bit of trouble at one of the folds, but well worth linen backing. Ask us about poster conservation.

Original American International Pictures One Sheet Poster (1958) for the Edward Bernds teenage exploitation crime drama, HIGH SCHOOL HELLCATS (1958) starring Yvonne Fedderson, Brett Halsey, Jana Lund, and Susanne Sidney. This film is certainly one of the classic exploitation movies of the 1950s. Good girl hanging around with the wrong crowd in order to fit it, plus add a little romance and some inevitable violence—it all adds up to the kind of drive-in movie you would take your date to in order to make out. Though unintentional, the film is hilarious in its depiction of juvenile delinquents, who is this case are a tough girl’s gang drenched in lesbian innuendo. This original one sheet poster is in very good condition. This poster is known to have color fading problems over time, and this example shows some of that fading.
