Original Paramount Pictures 1973 German Re-Release Poster (24×33) for the F. W. Murnau silent adventure masterpiece, TABU: A STORY OF THE SOUTH SEAS (1931)—starring Matahi, Anne Chevalier, and Bill Bambridge. One of the most stunning and significant films of the silent era, it is the story of a young fisherman who falls in love with the girl who is chosen to the virginal “holy maid.” Filmed entirely in Tahiti, TABU would be Murnau’s last movie. He died in a tragic car accident just weeks before the premier. Cinematographer Floyd Crosby won the Academy Award for his beautiful photography. This beautiful 1973 re-release German poster uses the same stunning graphics as the original. The poster is folded and in near mint condition.
