Original Allied Pictures Six Sheet Poster (81×81) for the George Melford romantic western, THE COWBOY COUNSELLOR (1932) starring Hoot Gibson, Sheila Bromley, Jack Rutherford, and Fred Gilman. Director Melford was one of the best visual stylists of the silent era beginning his directorial career in 1911 and ending in 1946. Besides directing, Melford was also a character actor throughout his career, continuing until 1960. In this film, Hoot Gibson plays a confidence man posing as a lawyer selling phony law books. Complications arises when he has to defend a young man falsely accused of robbery. This original stone lithograph six sheet poster is linen-backed and in very fine condition.

Original Paramount Pictures Stone Lithograph One Sheet Poster (27×41) for the George Melford silent drama, THE SEA WOLF (1920) starring Noah Berry, James Gordon, and Tom Forman. This was the second of seven film adaptations of the popular Jack London novel. In this early version, intellectual Humphrey van Weyden (Forman) is on board a San Francisco ferry that collides with a ship in the fog and sinks. Weyden is picked up by a seal-hunting schooner whose captain is Wolf Larsen (“The Sea Wolf”). Weyden is forced to become self-reliant and tough by exposure to cruelty and brutality. This original stone lithograph one sheet poster is linen-backed and in very fine condition with only some minor repairs at the fold lines.
