A graphic, unromantic depiction of juvenile delinquency, drug use, promiscuity, and its consequences, KIDS follows a group of wild teens in New York City. They drink forties, smoke pot, fight, skate, have sex, and break things, but when one of the teens finds out she’s HIV positive she spends the rest of the film trying to track down the boy she slept with. Director Larry Clark photographed KIDS in a gritty documentary style, which lent the film a certain authenticity and had a huge impact on young audiences. While most of the unknown talent has remained unknown, KIDS featured Chlo√´ Sevigny and Rosario Dawson in their debut roles.
