Original Paramount Pictures Insert Poster (14×36) for the Paul Schrader crime drama, AMERICAN GIGOLO (1980) starring Lauren Hutton, Richard Gere, and Hector Elizondo. Gore plays a high-paid escort to older women in the Los Angeles named Julian. He begins a relationship with the wife of a local politician, without expecting any pay in return. Meanwhile, he is framed for the kinky S&M murder of one of his clients and begins to be investigated by the police. Gere’s performance is certainly one of his most memorable for creating a character who is intense and sleazy on the one hand, but vulnerable and naïve on the other. Giorgio Moroder’s upbeat score received an Oscar nomination, as did his original song “Call Me” performed by the legendary Deborah Harry and Blondie. This original insert poster is rolled and in very fine condition.

Original TriStar Pictures One Sheet Poster (27×41) for the Paul Schrader music drama, LIGHT OF DAY (1987)—starring Michael J. Fox, Gena Rowlands, Joan Jett, and Billy L. Sullivan. Brother and sister, Patty (Jett) and Joe (Fox) live in an industrial suburb with Patty’s younger son Benji (Sullivan). Their pious mother (Rowlands) reproaches them for their irresponsibility, especially when they quit their jobs and go on tour with their band, “The Barbusters.” But unlike other films about rock n’ roll bands, there is no excess, decadence, drugs, or groupies. Rather, this is an unvarnished drama about the pure, unglamorous reality of ordinary people trying to make it with a rock band. This original one sheet poster is rolled and in near mint condition. One of the more interesting and underrated movies about kids in the eighties.
