Of course, the film was roundly criticized as exploitative of and demeaning to women. Every female character in the film advances her career by both deceiving other women and becoming a sexual object for men. And while some see the film as a camp classic and sly satire, it was nominated in 2005 for the Razzie award Worst Drama of Our First 25 Years. Troubled detective Nick Curran (Douglas) is assigned to investigate the brutal murder of a former rock star Johnny Boz. In the course of the investigation, he meets Catherine Tramell (Stone), a very clever and manipulative crime novelist who was Boz’s girlfriend at the time of the murder. Douglas and Stone give excellent performances of the carefully crafted script by Joe Eszterhas. The film also boasts a wonderful score by Jerry Goldsmith, which received an Academy Award nomination. Originally folded, this one sheet poster is in very fine condition.
