Original Argentinean Poster (29×43) for the Rowland V. Lee adventure classic, THE THREE MUSKETEERS (1935) starring Walter Abel and Paul Lukas. Athos, Porthos, Aramis, and the headstrong D’Artagnan defend their beloved France from the influences of Cardinal Richelieu. This was the very first sound version of THE THREE MUSKETEERS and the first English Language version since the 1921 Fairbanks hit. It was supposed to be a vehicle for Walter Abel to move from Broadway to the talkies, but critics and audiences responded unenthusiastically, as the film was considered boring. Boring the poster is NOT. Lovely old Argentinean stone lithography make this poster a great decorator’s piece. This poster is in fine plus condition and is folded. We would recommend linen backing for the poster. Ask us about poster conservation.
