Original Belgian poster for the Rudolph Mate film SECOND CHANCE (1953) starring Robert Mitchum, Linda Darnell, and Jack Palance. This was originally an action-packed 3D movie produced during the first attempt by the studios to create a unique movie-going magnet designed to pull viewers away from their newly acquired TV sets. The excitement in SECOND CHANCE takes place south of the border with a suspenseful scene aboard an aerial tramway climaxing the film. The poster is in good condition and the image area is fine. The Belgian censor stamps are attached. The top of the poster has been trimmed.

Original Universal Pictures One Sheet Poster (27×41) for the Rudolph Mate adventure classic, THE PRINCE WHO WAS A THIEF (1951) starring Tony Curtis, Piper Laurie, Everett Sloane, and Jeff Corey. Much has been made of the heavy accent of the young Curtis, but otherwise he ably portrays a young man who is raised by a thief only to later discover that he is the rightful prince of the kingdom. The film was part of Universal’s grooming process aimed at transforming Curtis from a contract player to a full-fledged star. The script is well written, the direction is smooth, and the technical merits of the film are very good—especially the musical score by Hans Salter. This original one sheet poster is folded and in very fine to near mint condition.
