Original 20th Century Fox Window Card (14×22) for the Stanley Donen comedy/drama, STAIRCASE (1969) starring Rex Harrison, Richard Burton, Cathleen Nesbitt, and Beatrix Lehmann. Once you get past the shock of seeing two of the theater’s most notorious womanizers playing a middle-aged gay couple, you’ll be amazed and surprised at such a touching and sensitive story. Burton is particularly memorable in the heart-breaking scenes with his invalid mother (Nesbitt). This is both a funny and a sad movie about lonely people and their search for love and acceptance. This original window card is in near mint condition.

Original 20th Century Fox Twenty Four Sheet (9′x20′) for the Stanley Donen romantic comedy, TWO FOR THE ROAD (1967)—starring Audrey Hepburn and Albert Finney. The film follows Joanna (Hepburn) and Mark (Finney) from their courtship and marriage to parenthood and infidelity. However, the story is not told in a linear narrative but rather cleverly in a series of five road trips. The chemistry between the two leads is quite good, especially in the early days of their relationship. The film received an Academy Award nomination for Frederic Raphael’s original screenplay. This original twenty four sheet billboard poster is in very fine condition.

CHARADE (1963)

Original Universal Pictures Insert poster (14×36) for the Stanley Donen mystery thriller, CHARADE (1963)—starring Cary Grant, Audrey Hepburn, Walter Matthau, and James Coburn. They story revolves around a woman (Hepburn), who is pursued by several men who want a fortune her murdered husband had stolen. Blessed with an airy but literate script, elegant and classy performances by Grant and Hepburn, and direction with a continental style and flare by Donen—the end result is one of the best light mysteries ever made. Henry Mancini and Johnny Mercer won the Academy Award for Best Original Song (“Charade”). CHARADE was certainly the last great film for Cary Grant, whose chemistry with Hepburn is unbeatable. It did not hurt that this film had a appropriately charming score by Henry Mancini. The insert poster was never folded, and is the best example of the poster in this format that we have seen.
