Original United Artists One Sheet Poster (27×41) for the Terence Young spy thriller, DR. NO (1962) starring Sean Connery, Ursula Andress, and Joseph Wiseman. This was the first James Bond feature film, and it profited from the creator Ian Fleming being greatly involved in the production. There is no overload of explosions or special effects. The plot can be told clearly, taken seriously, and enjoyed from start to finish. DR. NO set the standards, albeit on a limited budget, for the entire series. Connery’s brilliant use of charm, coolness, and cruelty truly defined the Bond character, and his portrayal of the ultimate spy has never been equaled. The film was a box office smash success and vindicated the studio’s decision to sign the unknown Connery. This original one sheet poster is folded and in near mint condition.

Original United Artists Twenty Four Sheet Poster (9 ft x 20 ft) for the Terence Young adventure thriller, THUNDERBALL (1965)– starring Sean Connery, Claudine Auger, and Adolfo Celi. Perhaps the most outrageous James Bond poster around as well as the largest. THUNDERBALL (1965) was the first really widescreen Bond movie, and the film demonstrably took the effects and sweep of the films to center stage. From this point forward James Bond movies would be above all LARGE. I regard it as the first of the Big Bond movies. Since so much of it happens underwater, how better to display the big guy other than in his S.C.U.B.A gear? Move over, Esther Williams, the name is Bond – James Bond. Here is a poster on the such a scale that even Emilio Largo would be envious. The twenty four sheet is printed on multiple panels which must be joined for display. This example was never used and exists in remarkable shape.

Original Medallion Pictures One Sheet Poster (27×41) for the Ferdianado Baldi and Terence Young historical action drama, DUEL OF CHAMPIONS (1961) starring Alan Ladd, Franca Bettoia, Franco Fabrizi, Robert Keith, and Jacques Sernas. The film chronicles a duel between three Roman and three Alban brothers to settle a long-standing dispute between the two peoples. Many critics concentrate on Ladd’s tired and lackluster performance, coming at the end of his career. Indeed, he would only act in two more films and die of an overdose of alcohol and sedatives in 1964. The best thing about the film is the truly epic musical score composed by Francesco Lavagnino that desperately tries to elevate the production. Fine plus condition for this theater-used one sheet. Good color, no fold separations.
