Original United Artists British Front of House Card (8×10) for the Terrence Young spy thriller, DR. NO (1962)‚ starring Sean Connery, Ursula Andress, and Joseph Wiseman. This was the first James Bond feature film, and it profited from the creator Ian Fleming being greatly involved in the production. There is no overload of explosions or special effects. The plot can be told clearly, taken seriously, and enjoyed from start to finish. DR. NO set the standards, albeit on a limited budget, for the entire series. Connery’s brilliant use of charm, coolness, and cruelty truly defined the Bond character, and his portrayal of the ultimate spy has never been equaled. The film was a box office smash success and vindicated the studio’s decision to sign the unknown Connery. This original British front of house card is one of the best Bond scene cards and is in very fine condition.

Front-of-House cards fulfilled much the same purpose as American lobby cards, but they are much, much rarer. Tiny pinholes in each corner betray that these cards were displayed somewhere, perhaps in a cinema in 1962. Otherwise, these cards are in very fine condition. Rare!

Original United Artists Three Sheet Poster (41×81) for the Terrence Young adventure thriller, THUNDERBALL (1965)—starring Sean Connery, Claudine Auger, and Adolfo Celi. This was the first really widescreen Bond movie, and the film demonstrably took the effects and sweep to center stage. From this point forward James Bond movies would, above all, be LARGE. I regard it as the first of the Big Bond movies. Since so much of it happens underwater, how better to display the big guy other than in his S.C.U.B.A gear? Move over, Esther Williams, the name is Bond – James Bond. This three sheet is an excellent design and a very desirable poster on the title. It is folded but unused and in very fine to near mint condition. MovieArt also has the incredible 9 x 20 foot U.S. 24 sheet for this film. Ask us about poster restoration.
