Original Republic Pictures One Sheet Poster (27×41) for the William Beaudine musical comedy, CUBAN FIREBALL (1951) starring Estelita Rodriguez, Warren Douglas, Mimi Aguglia, and Leon Belasco. Pretty Cuban-born entertainer Estelita Rodriguez began a show business career at age nine. She was signed early on to an MGM contract, but made no films for MGM. Later she caught the attention of Herbert J. Yates at Republic and was signed to a five year contact there. Her life was characterized by personal upheaval and a tempestuous marriage to actor Grant Withers. Screenwriter Charles Roberts, who had guided the career of another stormy player, Lupe Velez, fashioned this film for Rodriguez. She began calling herself simply Estelita, but her career never really took off. She died in Los Angeles in 1967. MovieArt has several copies of this one sheet and also at least one three sheet. Please inquire as to condition. This copy is good condition only. This poster is a theater-used copy, with some distresses and small holes and pinholes. This poster would linen-back nicely; ask us about restoration services.

Original Allied Artists Three Sheet Poster (41×81) for the William Beaudine comedy, JALOPY (1953) starring Leo Gorcey, Huntz Hall, Bernard Gorcey, and Robert Lowery. By 1953 The Bowery Boys films were beginning to wear thin. The chief problem was that the Boys, who played loveable juveniles and sometime juvenile delinquents since DEAD END (1937), were quickly approaching middle age. A new producer, Ben Schwalb, and a new director, William Beaudine, convinced Leo Gorcey and Huntz Hall, that changing perspective by playing befuddled, near-slapstick adults was the way to extend the careers of the troupe. JALOPY was the first film in this approach. Good condition only. Needs linen backing. Three sheets are large posters which are printed on two panels intended to be butted together. Severe edgewear at the joined area, but vivid color. Linen backing this poster would conserve it. Ask us about poster conservation.

VOODOO MAN (1944) 19647

full.voodooman 1s 19647

Original Monogram Pictures One Sheet Poster (27×41) for the William Beaudine horror classic, VOODOO MAN (1944) starring Bela Lugosi and John Carradine. This is the story of Dr. Richard Marlowe (Lugosi) who uses a combination of voodoo rite and hypnotic suggestion to attempt to revivify his beautiful, but long-dead wife by transferring the life essences of several hapless young girls he has kidnapped and imprisoned in the dungeon beneath his mansion. This was the second Monogram film for Lugosi, and many critics consider this to be his best performance for the studio. But while Lugosi delivers a uniformly good performance as the mad doctor, it is John Carradine who steals the show as Lugosi’s dimwitted slave. This original one sheet poster is linen-backed and in fine plus condition.
