DRUMS OF TAHITI (1954) 5841

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

Original Belgian poster for the William Castle film DRUMS OF TAHITI (1954) starring Dennis O’Keefe, Francis L. Sullivan and Patricia Medina. This was originally an action-packed 3D movie produced during the first attempt by the studios to create a unique movie-going magnet designed to pull viewers away from their newly acquired TV sets. DRUMS OF TAHITI finds Dennis O’Keefe helping the natives against the French occupation while fighting the advances of a femme fatale (Patricia Medina) and a native dance girl. Wildly cinematic volcanoes and hurricanes ensue! This Belgian poster is in fair condition; torn in the top play date area. The image area is in good condition. Worn but intact. Would linen back nicely as a trimmed poster. Please ask us about poster restoration.

Original Columbia Pictures 3-D Insert Poster (14×36) for the William Castle western, FORT TI (1953) starring George Montgomery, Joan Vohs, and Irving Bacon. Set in the period of the French and Indian War in Colonial America (1754-63), British soldiers attempt to route the French army from Fort Ticonderoga. This film has great cinematography, outstanding and believable sets and costumes, and great action sequences making excellent use of 3-D. This influential film led to a spate of other colonial films in the 1950s and the great TV series “Northwest Passage.” This rare original 3-D insert poster is folded in very good condition. It does have some stains on the front from masking tape, but this could be easily cleaned.

I SAW WHAT YOU DID (1965) 6687

Original Universal Pictures Three Sheet Poster (41×81) for the William Castle horror thriller, I SAW WHAT YOU DID (1965)—starring Joan Crawford, John Ireland, Leif Erickson, Sara Lane, and Andi Garrett. Teenagers Libby (Garrett) and Kit (Lane) get themselves in a lot of trouble when they taunt the unsuspecting with prank phone calls. “I know who you are and I saw what you did” is what they tell folks on the other end of the line. The joke backfires when the two girls get an actual murderer on the line. Not only do they get the murderer upset with them, but throw Mommie Dearest Joan Crawford into the mix and there is real party-line mayhem. This is strictly drive-in fare for the baby boomer youth quake era, but the poster, with its enormous face of Joan in major shriek-down, is truly frightening. This three sheet is in very good condition and the large format, with the huge Joan image, has not been seen much. A three sheet is a large poster; this three sheet was published in two sections, which have been joined together in Photoshop to make this image. This poster was actually used in a theater and has some minor defects including a tear, some small holes. Would make an excellent candidate for linen backing. Please ask us about poster restoration.

13 GHOSTS (1960) 3340

Original Columbia Pictures Style A One Sheet Poster (27×41) for the William Castle horror classic, 13 GHOSTS (1960) starring Charles Herbert, Jo Morrow, Martin Milner, Donald Woods, Rosemary DeCamp, and Margaret Hamilton. This fun horror film is the story of a family who inherits a house with twelve ghosts and space for one more. The house used in the film would later be used as the home of TV’s “The Munsters.” Wicked Witch of the West Margaret Hamilton gives a memorable performance as the eccentric housekeeper. The film also used a nifty gimmick called “Illusion-O,” a pair of red and blue colored glasses. During the color ghosts sequences, audiences could see the spirits only with the red “Ghost Viewer” side and remove them with the blue “Ghost Remover.” This cinematic breakthrough was devised by gimmick-master William Castle. This original style A one sheet is folded and in very fine condition. We have lesser condition copies of this poster for a lesser price.
