This was the last film that Walt Disney worked on, and many critics consider it to be one of his best animated films. A brilliant cast brings to life some of the most memorable characters in Disney history, and the songs and musical score are superb. Terry Gilkyson’s “The Bare Necessities” was nominated for Best Song. The film is inspired by Rudyard Kipling’s story about the boy “Mowgli” who is raised by wolves in the jungles of India. But Mowgli has a mighty enemy in the fierce tiger, Shere Khan, the quintessential Disney villain voiced brilliantly by George Sanders. This animated retelling of the Robin Hood legend uses charming humanoid animals as the characters in the story. This fun romp has many good songs, classic animation, and believable characters and situations. These four rare standees include Robin Hood as a fox, Little John as a bear, the Sheriff of Nottingham as a wolf, and both Sir Hiss as a snake and Prince John as a lion. All four standees are in very fine condition.

Original Walt Disney Productions Three Sheet Poster for the Wolfgang Reitherman animated adventure, THE SWORD IN THE STONE (1963)—starring the voices of Rickie Sorensen, Karl Swenson, and Junius Matthews. This film was a retelling of the Arthurian legend of the sword Excalibur. The rightful title of King belonged to the man who could extract the sword from the stone in which it was set. Many tried, of course, but it remained for the young boy Wart (Arthur) to do it, with the help of the magician Merlin, his tutor. A sweet telling of this story which has been filmed many times. This original three sheet poster is folded and in very fine plus condition. Never used.
