Updating the 1930′s comic strip, this Flash Gordon (Jones) is a football hero who is skyjacked aboard Dr. Zarkov’s (Topol) rocketship along with the beautiful Dale Arden (Anderson). Arriving on the planet Mongo, they discover the planet is ruled by the tyrant “Ming the Merciless” (von Sydow), who intends to destroy Earth and make Dale his concubine. Flash teams up with two former rivals to rescue Dale, defeat Ming, and save the Earth. The film has impressive production design, colorful costumes by Danilo Donati, and a wonderfully campy soundtrack by Queen. With wonderful artwork by Richard Amsel, this original one sheet poster is folded and in very fine condition.
