Astaire plays the elegant and charming show business professional who’s ambitious for success. Crosby plays the talented, but lazy partner who just wants a life of ease and comfort. Both guys become very interested in Marjorie Reynolds. The song “White Christmas” sung by Crosby won composer Irving Berlin the Oscar for Best Original Song. The song became the best selling single of all time until it was surpassed by Elton John’s “Goodbye, England’s Rose” in 1997. Although it does have the original owner’s name written in pen on the cover, this original sheet music is in very fine condition.

Original Republic Pictures Scene Lobby Card (11×14) for the Albert S. Rogell musical romance, HIT PARADE OF 1943 (1943) starring John Carroll, Susan Hayward, Gail Patrick, and Eve Arden. The film came from the “Hit Parade” radio program sponsored by Lucky Strikes cigarettes and revolves around Susan Hayward who ghost writes songs for composer John Carroll, whose charms evidently outweighed his song-sriting ability. The film received two Oscar nominations: Walter Scharf was nominated for Best Original Score and “Change of Heart” was nominated for Best Original Song. This original scene lobby card in in fine plus condition.

Impresario Billy Rose allowed Fox to use the name of his famous Las Vegas nightclub, The Diamond Horseshoe, which spotlighted stars from the early 20th century recreating the songs and skits that made them great. Grable looks and sounds great as the jaded and sassy Bonnie Collins in this Technicolor extravaganza. This original stone lithography three sheet poster is linen-backed and in fine condition.
