This was the sixth film based on the famous Ian Fleming spymaster James Bond, and the film starred George Lazenby in the title role. He was quite good in the role; indeed, he was nominated for a Golden Globe as “Most Promising Male Newcomer.” Considered by many critics to be one of the best Bond movies; the film was certainly closest to the Ian Fleming source material. Connery’s brilliant use of charm, coolness, and cruelty truly defined the Bond character, and his portrayal of the ultimate spy has never been equaled.
