Original 20th Century-Fox One Sheet Poster (27x41) for the Mark Robson camp classic, VALLEY OF THE DOLLS (1967) starring Barbara Parkins, Patty Duke, and Sharon Tate. Based on the scandalous, best-selling novel by Jacqueline Susann, this camp classic chronicles the rise and fall of three young women in show business. Although the film was listed in John Wilson's "The Most Amusingly Bad Movies Ever Made," it had some good qualities—including several musical numbers with beautiful arrangements by Andre Previn and John Williams and some good performances, especially from Parkins and Duke. Jacqueline Susann was a woman of the 40's and 50's, and her story fits that time and not the late 60s. VALLEY OF THE DOLLS is really a big-budget movie with great production values, but based on a cheesy quasi-pulp romance totally out of sync with the period in which it is set. This original one sheet poster is in fine plus condition.
