This is an original 20th Century-Fox One Sheet Poster (27x41) for the Otto Preminger film noir, WHIRLPOOL (1949) starring Gene Tierney, Richard Conte, Jose Ferrer, and Charles Bickford. This film is part psychological drama and part film noir. The beautiful wife (Tierney) of a famous psychoanalyst Dr. William Sutton (Conte) gets caught stealing an expensive pin from a department store. An infamous astrologer David Korvo (Ferrer) comes to her aid and uses hypnosis to make her an unconscious party to an elaborate scheme involving murder. All of the acting performances are good, especially Tierney who does an outstanding job at portraying both the vulnerability and desperation of her character; indeed, the actress used the film as a mini "comeback" after a two-year absence. The black and white cinematography and use of the camera are very good. This original one sheet poster is in very fine condition.
