Not only was Lancaster nominated for Best Actor, Savalas and Ritter were also nominated for Best Supporting Actor/Actress. Stroud was still in prison when the film was released. He covertly hires Sidney Falco (Curtis), a sleazy and unscrupulous press agent, to break up the affair. The film boasts memorable dialogue, outstanding performances especially from Lancaster and Curtis, and beautiful black and white cinematography. Lancaster's character was modeled after famous columnist Walter Winchell. This original six sheet poster is linen-backed and in very fine condition.
THE KENTUCKIAN (1955) 6837
Original United Artists Title Lobby Card (11×14). Very good condition.
This is an original United Artists Title Lobby Card (11x14) for the Burt Lancaster western, THE KENTUCKIAN (1955)—starring Burt Lancaster, Dianne Foster, Diana Lynn, and John McIntire. This is the story of a Kentucky widower bound for Texas in the 1820s with his young son. He is thwarted in his efforts by a corrupt constable, a long-standing family feud, and a beautiful indentured servant. This film was typical of the he-man type, which Hecht-Lancaster produced in the 1950s. The film is a great period piece showing the speech, habits, attitudes, and clothing in the backwoods of Kentucky in the 1820s. Burt Lancaster is shown with a long rifle in etching-style art. This theater-used title card is in very good condition with two minor edge defects.
ELMER GANTRY (1960) 8657
Original United Artists One Sheet Poster (27×41). Near mint condition.
Original United Artists One Sheet Poster (27x41) for the Richard Brooks drama, ELMER GANTRY (1960)—starring Burt Lancaster, Jean Simmons, Arthur Kennedy, Dean Jagger, and Shirley Jones. The story deals with Gantry (Lancaster)-- a fast-talking, hard drinking traveling salesman. He becomes fascinated with a charismatic female evangelist (Simmons) and teams up with her to “sell” religion to America in the 1920s. But Gantry’s sordid past catches up with him in the form of a prostitute named Lulu (Jones). The film was nominated for five Academy Awards, including Best Picture. It won three Oscars: Best Actor to Lancaster, Best Supporting Actress to Jones, and Best Adapted Screenplay to Brooks. This original one sheet poster is in near mint condition.

When a Dutch captain visits the island on his yacht, Lancaster and Connors steal it, take on the Japanese fleet, and manage to sink a Japanese ship.
