Additional DescriptionMore Details

THE ISLAND OF LOST SOULS (1932) 20316

Original Paramount Pictures Scene Lobby Card (11×14).  Restored.  Very good to fine condition.

Additional DescriptionMore Details
Original Paramount Pictures Scene Lobby Card (11x14) for the Erle C. Kenton sci-fi horror classic, ISLAND OF LOST SOULS (1932)—starring Charles Laughton, Richard Arlen, Leila Hyams, and Bela Lugosi. Based on a novel by H. G. Wells, a mad scientist named Dr. Moreau (Laughton) conducts evil experiments in evolution, eventually establishing himself as a self-styled demigod to a race of mutated, half-human monsters. This was Laughton’s first starring role in an American film, and his performance of the classic mad scientist is menacing, especially when he starts literally “cracking the whip.” This original scene lobby card has been restored to correct pinholes in the borders, two tears at the bottom of the image, and a large vertical tear in the top right border area. Extremely scarce.
