Original 20th Century Fox One Sheet Poster (27×41). Rolled. Very fine condition.
This is an original 20th Century Fox One Sheet Poster (27x41) for the superb Ang Lee family drama, THE ICE STORM (1997)—starring Kevin Kline, Joan Allen, and Sigourney Weaver. Set in an upscale Connecticut suburb in 1973, this excellent film focuses on two families, the Hoods and the Cravers. These two families are quickly slipping into an existentialist void, where social taboos are shattered on whims and the line between adult authority and juvenile irresponsibility is blurred. The film chronicles a brief period of rapid moral deterioration—including adultery, sexual experimentation, drug use, and petty crimes. THE ICE STORM is an incredibly powerful and relevant ensemble piece about the complexity of family and relationships. This original rolled one sheet poster is in very fine condition.

It was nominated for seven Academy Awards—including Best Picture, Best Actor for Hoffman, Best Actress for Bancroft, Best Supporting Actress for Ross. Director Nichols won the Oscar for Best Director. This original half sheet poster is rolled and is in fine plus condition. There is a bit of scribbing - almost unobtrusive in the white background area that prevent this poster from being graded higher. This is a very simple fix for an experienced restorer. Also a very small tear in the top border area. The half sheet poster presents the best image of Hoffman and Bancroft together. In bed no less! Hard to find in this format.
GOLD RUSH MAISIE (1940) 9414B
Original MGM Scene Lobby Card (11×14). Very fine to near mint condition.
Original MGM Scene Lobby Card (11x14) for the Edwin L. Marin comedy, GOLD RUSH MAISIE (1940)—starring Ann Southern, Lee Bowman, Slim Summerville, and Virginia Weidler. In a role originally intended for Jean Harlow, Southern portrays the brassy Brooklyn burlesque dancer Maisie Ravier. Southern made ten films playing this character, and she also played Maisie on a popular CBS radio program from 1945—1947. Though primarily a comedy, this film has a serious side when Maisie meets a family of dust bowl farmers who have lost their farm and become migrant workers. Except for THE GRAPES OF WRATH (1940), very few scripts of the day dealt sympathetically with the plight of these families. Ann Southern remains one of the most underrated figures in Hollywood's history.
