Gregory Peck played Good King David tempted by the red headed siren Susan Hayward in Henry Hathway's Old Testament epic. The widescreen would usher in THE EGYPTIAN, THE ROBE, LAND OF THE PHAROAHS. But this film has something going for it in terms of script, and took in $7,000,000 in box office receipts. The poster is in very good condition, folded, with a small chip out of the top border area.

GENTLEMANS AGREEMENT (1947) 9417A

Original 20th Century Fox Title Lobby Card (11×14).  Very good condition.

Additional DescriptionMore Details
Original 20th Century Fox Title Lobby Card (11x14) for the Elia Kazan anti-Semitism drama, GENTLEMAN’S AGREEMENT (1947)—starring Gregory Peck, Dorothy McGuire, John Garfield, and Celeste Holm. In this excellent screenplay by Moss Hart, a reporter (Peck) pretends to be Jewish in order to cover a story about anti-Semitism, and in the process he personally discovers the true depths of bigotry and hatred. Very few films confront bigotry as intelligently as this one, because it confronts the unspoken, insensitive attitudes of the many rather than the violent and outrageous acts of a few. A “gentleman’s agreement” is made without writing or even speech and refers to the many bigots who unthinkingly assume their prejudices are universally accepted. The film was nominated for eight Academy Awards and won three Oscars: Best Picture, Best Director to Kazan, and Best Supporting Actress to Holm. The title card is classed in very good condition because of a weak upper right corner which is reinforced with paper tape and two very small border tears. Otherwise - in very fine condition - good color.

TO KILL A MOCKINGBIRD (1962) 6555

Original Universal Pictures Three Sheet Poster (41×81). Linen-backed.  Very fine condition.

Additional DescriptionMore Details
Original Universal Pictures Three Sheet Poster (41x81) for the Robert Mulligan dramatic masterpiece, TO KILL A MOCKINGBIRD (1962)—starring Gregory Peck, Brock Peters, Mary Badham, Phillip Alford, and Robert Duvall. Based on Harper Lee’s Pulitzer Prize winning novel, this is the story of Atticus Finch, a lawyer in the Depression-era Alabama town, who defends a black man against an undeserved rape charge and his kids against prejudice. The story is told through the eyes of a feisty six-year-old tomboy named “Scout.” Although certainly not the first film to explore the experiences of children and their own personal growth, the film stands out because of he sheer honesty and natural performances of the child actors portraying these rich characters. The American Film Institute recently named the character of Atticus Finch the number one hero of all time. Indeed, Gregory Peck won the Oscar for Best Actor and always said that Finch was the most favorite role of his career. The film was nominated for seven other Academy Awards, including Best Picture and Best Director. Horton Foote won the Oscar for Best Screenplay for his outstanding adaptation of the Lee novel. This original three sheet poster is linen-backed and in very fine condition.

THE OMEN (1976) 12327

Original 20th Century Fox Style F Insert Poster (14×36).  Folded.  Very good condition.

Additional DescriptionMore Details
Original 20th Century Fox Style F Insert Poster (14x36) for the Richard Donner horror classic, THE OMEN (1976)—starring Gregory Peck, Lee Remick, David Warner, and Harvey Stephens. Certainly one of the best horror movies of all time, this film tells the story of an American ambassador (Peck) who discovers that his son is the literal Anti-Christ. Remick is perfect for the part of the mother who slowly comes to realize that something is wrong with her son. Gregory Peck easily portrays the noble and principled father. One of the best aspects of the film is the incredible musical score of Jerry Goldsmith, for which he won the Academy Award. It is wonderfully gloomy, disturbing, chilling music interlaced with choirs portending the end of the world. This original style F insert poster is folded and in very good condition, with some minor fold distresses and flaws.
