THE BIG STREET (1942) 10445

Original RKO One-Sheet Poster (27×41). Linen-backed. Near Mint.

Additional DescriptionMore Details
This is an original RKO one- sheet Poster (27x41) for the Irving Reis film noir, THE BIG STREET (1942), starring Lucille Ball, Henry Fonda, and Barton MacLane. Based on a Damon Runyon story, this was arguably Ball’s first major role -- as an orchestra singer and the arrogant, surly moll of a small-time gangster (MacLane). Fonda plays “Little Pinks,” a shy busboy who is in love with Ball. When MacLane beats up Ball and she falls down a staircase, the doctors confirm that she will never walk again even after months of treatment. After she and Fonda hitchhike to Florida, he organizes a big party in her honor. It’s all too much for her, and she dies “happy” in Fonda’s arms. Lucille Ball's dear friend, Carol Burnett, described this as her favorite of Ball's films, because it demonstrates Ball's extraordinary range, that was not often seen. Combined elements of noir and romantic drama give the love story a sinister edge. This original one sheet poster is linen-backed and in near mint condition.

Additional DescriptionMore Details
This is an original 20th Century Fox Six Sheet Poster (81x81) for the John Ford western masterpiece, MY DARLING CLEMENTINE (1946)—starring Henry Fonda, Linda Darnell, Victor Mature, and Cathy Downs. Adapted from Stuart Lake’s book “Wyatt Earp, Frontier Marshal,” the film tells the story of Wyatt Earp and his brothers who decide in 1882 to settle in Tombstone after their cattle are rustled and their younger brother James is killed. Earp who had already served as a marshal gladly accepts the position in Tombstone along with brothers as deputies. Marshal Earp has several run-ins with Ike Clanton and his sons. When Earp is forced to kill Billy Clanton, it leads to the famous shoot-out at the OK Corral. Some critics have dubbed this film the finest western ever made, and certainly the film represents a high point in the careers of all involved. Ford’s excellent direction creates a perfect blend of drama, action, romance, and occasional comic relief. This original stone lithograph six sheet poster is linen-backed and in near mint condition.

THE WRONG MAN (1956) 20198

Original Warner Bros. Scene Lobby Card (11×14).  Very good condition.

Additional DescriptionMore Details
Original Warner Bros. Scene Lobby Card (11x14) for the Alfred Hitchcock crime drama, THE WRONG MAN (1956)—starring Henry Fonda, Vera Miles, Anthony Quayle, and Harold J. Stone. This film tells the true story of Manny Balestrero (Fonda), a club musician unjustly accused of an armed robbery. Though Manny vehemently protest his innocence, his actions at every turn seem to belie his guilt. Instead of the usual Hitchcock cameo appearance, the director narrates the prologue, the only time he actually spoke in any of his films. Fonda gives an excellent performance of the quietly stunned Manny who slowly descends into total helplessness and powerlessness as he wends his way through the criminal justice system. This original scene card is in very good condition, with only minor edge wear and some pinholes.
