TEN GENTLEMEN FROM WEST POINT (1942) 18731
Original 20th Century Fox One Sheet Poster (27×41). Stone lithograph. Linen-backed. Fine plus condition.
This is an original 20th Century Fox One Sheet Poster (27x41) for the Henry Hathaway drama, TEN GENTLEMEN FROM WEST POINT (1942)—starring George Montgomery and Maureen O’Hara. West Point was established in 1802, and this story is set a few years later (1808-1811) when Congress was considering closing the Academy. But Henry Clay and Carolyn Bainbidge (O’Hara) lobby to keep the school going. O’Hara’s character is certainly interesting for the period setting. She deftly portrays a character with a feminist slant in a time when there were few feminists. Stone lithograph. This original one sheet poster is linen-backed and in fine plus condition.

Original Orion Pictures One Sheet Poster (27×41). Signed by Kevin Costner. Rolled. Very fine plus condition.
This is an original Orion Pictures One Sheet Poster (27x41) signed by director and leading actor Kevin Costner for his western masterpiece, DANCES WITH WOLVES (1990)—starring Costner, Mary McDonnell, and Graham Greene. The film was nominated for 12 Academy Awards—including Best Actor for Costner, Best Supporting Actor for Greene, and Best Supporting Actress for McDonnell. The film won seven Oscars—including Best Picture, Best Director to Costner, Best Original Score to John Barry for his unforgettable and haunting music, Best Cinematography to Dean Semler for his breathtaking camera work, Best Screenplay to Michael Blake who wrote both the original novel and the excellent screenplay. This film is the story of a cynical Buffalo Bill (Newman), who hires Sitting Bull to add credibility to the distorted view of history presented in his Wild West Show. The film is not so much about the history behind Buffalo Bill as it is about making fun of the racist attitudes prevalent in so many Hollywood westerns. Originally folded, this 30x40 advance poster is on a brown stock paper and is in very fine condition.
MY DARLING CLEMENTINE (1946) 14902
Original 20th Century Fox Six Sheet Poster (81×81). Stone lithograph. Linen-backed. Near mint condition.
This is an original 20th Century Fox Six Sheet Poster (81x81) for the John Ford western masterpiece, MY DARLING CLEMENTINE (1946)—starring Henry Fonda, Linda Darnell, Victor Mature, and Cathy Downs. Adapted from Stuart Lake’s book “Wyatt Earp, Frontier Marshal,” the film tells the story of Wyatt Earp and his brothers who decide in 1882 to settle in Tombstone after their cattle are rustled and their younger brother James is killed. Earp who had already served as a marshal gladly accepts the position in Tombstone along with brothers as deputies. Marshal Earp has several run-ins with Ike Clanton and his sons. When Earp is forced to kill Billy Clanton, it leads to the famous shoot-out at the OK Corral. Some critics have dubbed this film the finest western ever made, and certainly the film represents a high point in the careers of all involved. Ford’s excellent direction creates a perfect blend of drama, action, romance, and occasional comic relief. This original stone lithograph six sheet poster is linen-backed and in near mint condition.

This is an original Walt Disney Productions Six Sheet Poster (81x81) for the Clyde Geronimi and Wilfred Jackson animated classic, PETER PAN (1953)—starring the voices of Bobby Driscoll, Kathryn Beaumont, and Hans Conreid. Based the immortal play by Sir James Barrie, this film is one of the best Disney movies of all time and certainly one of the iconic films of the Baby Boom Generation. The Disney version of the story is light and breezy and moves at a quick pace. When Peter, Wendy, and her two brothers leap out of the nursery window and fly over Edwardian London at night, the audience is treated to some of the most charming animation ever created for film. Later parts of the movie are equally enchanting, and the villainous Captain Hook is brought to great comic life by the Disney animators and the marvelous vocal talent of Conreid. A delightful score and a bouquet of delightful songs bring the story to life. This original six sheet poster is linen-backed and in very fine condition.

With wagon trains now encroaching on Pawnee land, the Chief sends Pale Arrow to live with the white people where he takes a job as scout. The Chief has always wanted peace, but when he dies his successor (Crazy Fox) attacks the wagon train. STAGECOACH (1966) 19150
Original 20th Century Fox Window Card (14×22). Norman Rockwell artwork. Very fine condition.
This is an original 20th Century Fox Window Card (14x22) for the Gordon Douglas western, STAGECOACH (1966)—starring Ann-Margret, Red Buttons, Mike Connors, Alex Cord, and Bing Crosby. This film is a remake of the 1939 John Ford classic of the same name; indeed, this new version uses the original 1939 Dudley Nichols screenplay. The story is about a group of unlikely traveling companions on the same stagecoach to Cheyenne. Even though they all have secrets, they discover that they must work together to stay alive when they are set upon first by Indians and then by a family of outlaws. The cast is well chosen, and they all give excellent and believable performances. Young Ann-Margret is quite memorable as the sultry-but-sweet Dallas, a fallen woman who would love a chance at redemption. This is also Bing Crosby’s last film, a non-singing role as a disgraced, alcoholic doctor. Norman Rockwell had done a series of portraits of the characters for the main titles of the film and these were used on the posters. For his work he was rewarded with a small cameo in the movie - the only time he ever appeared in a film. With the artwork by Rockwell, this original window card is in very fine condition.

The film deals with the warfare between the settlers in Western New York and the Six Nations of the Iroquois who allied themselves with the British. Bert Glennon’s and Ray Rennahan’s beautiful cinematography bring the film vividly to life with lots of great action scenes. Both cinematographers were nominated for an Academy Award, and Edna May Oliver was nominated for Best Supporting Actress. This original style B one sheet poster is folded and in very fine condition. One of the truly great Fox stone lithographs.

Original United Artists Style B Half Sheet Poster (22x28) for the Andre De Toth western, THE INDIAN FIGHTER (1955)—starring Kirk Douglas, Elsa Martinelli, and Walter Matthau. Set in 1870, this is the exciting story of a former Indian fighter (Douglas) who has made peace with the Indians but while leading a wagon train through hostile Indian territory unwittingly get involved with a Sioux Chief’s beautiful daughter (Martinelli). Cinematographer Wilfred M. Cline made wonderful use of the spectacular Oregon scenery, and the action scenes are expertly staged and executed—especially the Indian attack on the fort. This original style B half sheet poster is rolled and in good condition—with only some smudges, some paper abrasion, and some tears repaired with tape on the back.
DAVY CROCKETT, KING OF THE WILD FRONTIER (1955) 20121
Original Walt Disney Productions Six Sheet Poster (73.5×75). Folded. Very fine minus.
Original Walt Disney Productions Six Sheet Poster (73.5 x 75 inches - this is an unusual size for a six sheet) for the Norman Foster family western adventure, DAVY CROCKETT, KING OF THE WILD FRONTIER (1955)—starring Fess Parker and Buddy Ebsen. The Davy Crockett story rivals the hula-hoop as one of the epic pop culture events in the post-war years of the 1950s. This film first appeared in three parts on the ABC Television program DISNEYLAND. A little known but good-looking Fess Parker, a former University of Texas student, was tapped to play the frontier hero. Davy Crockett became one of the highest rated programs on ABC up to that time - prompting Disney to re-edit the TV episodes into a single feature length film, which could be seen in color. Soon kids and their parents were flooding the theaters to see what they had missed while watching the Ed Sullivan Show. Davy Crockett coonskin caps, comics, lunch kits, t-shirts, cap pistols and various "b'ar" huntin' accessories were seen in every retail outlet from Neiman Marcus to Woolworths. It was a merchandising bonanza. The film itself is very entertaining, and the success of three different versions of the TV show's song, "The Ballad of Davy Crockett", impelled Uncle Walt to at last start his own record company, Disneyland Records. Parker is seen on the six sheet with his trusty rifle, Old Betsy. The poster's overall condition: very fine minus. The poster was likely never used. There is a 2" tear in the top of the lower left section (it falls in the background above the first "C" of "CROCKETT" in the title). Otherwise, the poster only has minor fold and border wear and shows some extra creasing at the folds. This first class piece of Disneyana would look great in a home theater with a western motif.

Original MGM Style B Half Sheet Poster (22×28). Folded. Very fine condition.
Original MGM Style B Half Sheet Poster (22x28) for the Harry Chandlee and John A. Haeseler short subject documentary, TALE OF THE NAVAJOS (1949)—narrated by Edwin Jerome. Shot entirely in Technicolor, this film details the history of the Navajo Indians and also focuses on the modern tribe’s everyday life. There are many interesting allusions to Navajo traditions, religious beliefs, and mythology. The film works better as an informed travelogue than as a sociological document. This style B half sheet is colorful and scarce. This original half sheet poster is folded and in very fine condition.

BROKEN ARROW (1950) 12680
Original 20th Century Fox One Sheet Poster (27×41). Linen-backed. Very fine condition.
Original 20th Century Fox One Sheet Poster (27x41) for the Delmer Daves western, BROKEN ARROW (1950)—starring James Stewart, Jeff Chandler, and Debra Paget. He bravely goes to the Apache stronghold and begins a dialogue with their chief Cochise (Chandler). He also falls in love with an Indian princess (Paget). Though most of the Native American roles were played by whites, the film is considered groundbreaking because of its portrayal of them in a humane light. The film was nominated for three Oscars—Best Supporting Actor for Chandler, Best Adapted Screenplay for Albert Maltz, and Best Color Cinematography for Ernest Palmer. This original one sheet poster is linen-backed and in very fine condition.
