KING KONG (1933) 14984

Original Argentinean Reissued One Sheet Poster (27×41). Linen-backed.  Stone lithograph. Fine.

Additional DescriptionMore Details
This is an original Argentinean Reissued One Sheet Poster for the RKO horror monster masterpiece, KING KONG (1933)—starring Fay Wray and Robert Armstrong. This film is one of the most influential movies in film history; indeed, every “monster” movie since owes something to KING KONG. When film director Carl Denham (Armstrong) hires unemployed New York actress Ann Darrow (Wray) to star in his new picture, he takes her to the remote Skull Island where, according to legend, there lives an awesome god-like beast named Kong. Ann is kidnapped by the natives and offered as a sacrifice to Kong, but Denham captures Kong and takes him back to America to shamelessly parade him before the amazed masses. Decades ahead of its time, the film is still fascinating today even with all the great achievements in special effects developed since its making. The visual imagery is complemented beautifully by one of the first feature length musical scores by Max Steiner, which conveys Kong’s complex emotional state, especially in the exciting finale atop the Empire State Building. This original linen-backed stone lithograph one sheet is stunningly beautiful and in fine plus condition. Some small tears have been repaired, but no paper is missing. We recommend re-backing the poster.

IT SHOULDNT HAPPEN TO A DOG (1946) 6520

Original 20th Century Fox One Sheet Poster (27×41).  Good condition.

Additional DescriptionMore Details
Original 20th Century Fox One Sheet Poster (27x41) for the Herbert I. Leeds crime comedy, IT SHOULDN'T HAPPEN TO A DOG (1946)-- starring Carole Landis, Allyn Joslyn, and Margo Woode. If you like Doberman Pinschers, here's your poster. Not expensive, this poster cries out for linen-backing to spruce it up. Not a great movie, but what there is of it is stolen by Rodney, the Doberman. Carole Landis plays a female detective with a snooping dog as a partner. When this duo gets accused of robbery they are joined by newpaper reporter Allyn Joslin, hot on the trail of the real culprits. A dog helps to sell a dog like this -- the film, not the poster! Good condition only, with some tears and other distresses, this poster would be improved greatly if linen backed. Check out our featured content on linen backing.
