TRADER TOM OF THE CHINA SEAS (1954) 9768
Original Republic Pictures Three Sheet Poster (41×81). Very fine condition.
This is an original Republic Pictures Three Sheet Poster (41x81) for the Franklin Adreon 12-chapter action adventure serial, TRADER TOM OF THE CHINA SEAS (1954). This serial is typical of the Republic serials of the 1950s - adventurous, cliffhanging, episodic. This poster features the almost-pulp art which typifies the Republic style. Starring b-picture actors Aline Towne and Harry Lauter, the plot is thin. These two are sent to the far east by the United Nations no less to stifle revolution and engage in general heroics, which they do over the span of 12 serial chapters. Forget the narrative and focus on this very colorful poster, unmistakably successful in capturing the zeitgeist of the serial. This original three sheet poster is in very fine condition.
