This is an original Warner Bros. Stock One Sheet Poster (27x41) for WARNER BROS. CARTOONS (1946). Warner Bros. was the preeminent producer of classic cartoon starting back in the 1930’s. This generic poster was for their popular cartoon short series—Bugs Bunny Specials, Looney Tunes and Merrie Melodies. The poster features many of Warner’s beloved cartoon characters. One of the rarest of the Warner Bros. stock one sheet posters, this poster is also one of the most colorful. Professional restoration has repaired fold wear and crossfold separations. This original stock one sheet poster is linen-backed and in very fine condition. This is the first poster to depict Bugs Bunny as he actually appeared in the cartoons themselves. For this reason this sheet is the most desired of the stock cartoon one sheets from Warners. These are the Warners cartoon characters of the Boomers, beloved by animation fans all over the world.

The plot is simple but effective, creating genuine drama and excitement. This film brought the Disney studios out of a long slump and spurred a comeback for animated features. Not only was the animation gorgeous, but the music was memorable as well. Indeed, the film won the Academy Awards for Best Musical Score to Alan Menken and Best Original Song (“Under the Sea”) to Menken and Howard Ashman. This authentic rolled double-sided one sheet poster is for the re-release of the film in 1997 and is in very fine condition.

This was the last film that Walt Disney worked on, and many critics consider it to be one of his best animated films. A brilliant cast brings to life some of the most memorable characters in Disney history, and the songs and musical score are superb. Terry Gilkyson’s “The Bare Necessities” was nominated for Best Song. The film is inspired by Rudyard Kipling’s story about the boy “Mowgli” who is raised by wolves in the jungles of India.
