It is the biography of Indian scout Calamity Jane (Day), a butch cowgirl who gets a feminine makeover and snares her shooting buddy Wild Bill Hickok (Keel). This film is certainly one of the most successful combinations of comedy, musical, and western. It has many catchy songs sung by one of the greatest singing talents of any time, Doris Day. It was nominated for three Academy Awards and won the Oscar for Best Original Song "Secret Love." Calamity Jane is perhaps the most beloved of all Doris Day musical films by her legions of fans. There are two original Belgian posters; this is the red style. Trimmed at the top, but not into the image. Scarce.
