Original United Artists Six Sheet Poster (80.5x82) for the Billy Wilder cross-dressing comedic masterpiece, SOME LIKE IT HOT (1959)—starring Marilyn Monroe, Tony Curtis, and Jack Lemmon. Some critics have dubbed this film to be the greatest Hollywood comedy of all time. Monroe as “Sugar” creates one of her most loved and memorable characters, but Lemmon and Curtis steal the show when they decide to become “Daphne” and “Josephine” and join an all-girl band in order to evade the mob and get to Florida. This gender-bending comedy way ahead of its time was nominated for six Academy Awards—including Best Actor for Lemmon and Best Director for Wilder. It won the Oscar for Best Costume Design. This original six sheet poster is linen-backed and in very fine condition, with some touch-up to fold lines and a minor repair in one small area.
SLIGHTLY DANGEROUS (1943) 1913
Original MGM One Sheet Poster (27×41). Unbacked. Very good condition.
Original MGM One Sheet Poster (27x41) for the Wesley Ruggles romantic comedy, SLIGHTLY DANGROUS (1943)—starring Lana Turner, Robert Young, Walter Brennan, and Dame May Whitty. This delightful comedy is about Turner being bored with her job and with her life in Hotchkiss Falls. The film gave 21-year-old Turner her first big starring break in a film not dominated by a male star. While lightweight comedy for sure, Turner never misses a chance to give the role of scheming girl a sense of fun and innocence—with a sexy twist. This original one sheet poster is unbacked and in very good condition. There are some minor water stains along the bottom border and some minor fold distresses and separations.
SLEEPER (1973) 1103
Original United Artists One Sheet Poster (27×41). Fine condition.
This is an original United Artists One Sheet Poster (27x41) for the Woody Allen sci-fi comedy, SLEEPER (1973)—starring Allen and Diane Keaton. The film tells the story of a clarinet player and health food store owner who is frozen and brought back to life 200 years in the future by anti-government radicals in order to assist them in their attempts to overthrown an oppressive government. This film is a very funny farce on science fiction and incorporates some wonderful old-fashion slapstick. Like all early Allen films, it will be treasured for its incredible wit and charm. This original one sheet poster is in fine condition.
SLAP SHOT (1977) 16271
Original Universal Pictures One Sheet Poster (27×41). Folded. Very fine condition.
Original Universal Pictures One Sheet Poster (27x41) for the George Roy Hill hockey drama, SLAP SHOT (1977)-- starring Paul Newman, Strother Martin, Michael Ontkean, and Jennifer Warren. After the success of THE STING (1973), Paul Newman wanted to do another film with George Roy Hill. That film turned out to be SLAP SHOT, one of the best sports-related films of the late seventies. The film concerns a down on their luck scrappy hockey team facing the travails of ageing players, volatile relationships, sagging economics, competition and the endless rigors of touring. From this soup comes one of the funniest, most foul-mouthed, and liveliest films of Newman's career. Add a dash of vintage seventies music and mix with some good sex and a lot of the famed Newman charm and you have SLAP SHOT. With artwork by Arno, this original one sheet poster is folded and in very fine condition.

SHOW BUSINESS (1944) 6527
Original RKO One Sheet Poster (27×41). Very fine plus condition.
Original RKO One Sheet Poster (27x41) for the Edwin L. Marin musical comedy, SHOW BUSINESS (1944)—starring Eddie Cantor, George Murphy, Joan Davis, and Nancy Kelly. This delightful musical comedy is the biography of a burlesque to vaudeville song and dance team over the first 30 years of the 20th century. Though it was not a World War II movie per se, coming at the end of the war, it displayed a warm-hearted Americana for which young American men were fighting and dying. Though no original music was composed for SHOW BUSINESS, the film included some very popular old standards like “Making Whoopee” and “It Had To Be You.” This poster is very fine plus condition.
