PULP FICTION (1994) 16174 "Lucky Strikes" recalled teaser

Original Miramax Films “Recalled” Advance One Sheet Poster (27×41). Rolled. Near Mint.

Additional DescriptionMore Details
Original Miramax Films Advance One Sheet Poster (27x41) for the Quentin Tarantino crime-drama-comedy masterpiece, PULP FICTION (1994)—starring John Travolta, Samuel L. Jackson, Bruce Willis, and Uma Thurman. One of the most fascinating crime-drama/comedies ever conceived and presented out of chronological order, this film incorporates a rich and intelligent dialogue and mixes humor and violence with skill and irony. The film was nominated for seven Oscars, including Best Picture and Best Director. Tarantino and Roger Avary won the Academy Award for Best Screenplay. The film revitalized the acting career of John Travolta, who received an Academy Award nomination, as did costars Samuel L. Jackson and Uma Thurman. This original Advance One Sheet is the recalled “Lucky Strikes” poster that sports a pack of the popular cigarettes on the poster. The cigarette manufacturer objected to their product being used on the poster, and Mirmax issued a slightly different version. This original one sheet poster is rolled and in near mint condition. Fakes abound. The scarce originals can be determined by their exact dimensions and certain anomalies in the printing characteristic of the reproductions.

POT O GOLD (1941) 20015

Original United Artists One Sheet Poster (27×41).  Some minor flaws.  Fine plus condition.

Additional DescriptionMore Details
Original United Artists One Sheet Poster (27x41) for the George Marshall musical comedy, POT O’ GOLD (1941)—starring James Stewart, Paulette Goddard, Horace Heidt, and Charles Winninger. This is the movie version of a popular radio program of the same name that featured musical routines. It is a romantic comedy told in musical form with Stewart playing one of his trademark common man personas-- who could also sing. And though audiences did not usually associate Stewart with singing, he is actually pretty good. This delightful film is meant to be funny, a little madcap, and always sweet. This original one sheet poster has some minor flaws—including edge wear, crossfold separations, pinholes, an extra crease at the vertical fold, and a small chip on the right side that has paper tape on the front and back. The overall condition is fine plus.

PINK FLAMINGOS (1972) 20325

Original 1997 Japanese Re-Release Poster (20×27).  Folded.  Very fine condition.

Additional DescriptionMore Details
Original 1997 Japanese Re-Release Poster (20x27) for the John Waters cult classic, PINK FLAMINGOS (1972)—starring Divine, David Lochary, Mary Vivien Pearce, and Mink Stole. Although this film is considered by many to be the most disgusting and revolting picture every made, it does have panache. It has a freewheeling sense of no holds barred assault on bad taste that borders on innocent fun. Since the film’s release in 1972, it has become a rite of passage for those testing their own boundaries of decency. The plot revolves around a throw down challenge to Divine’s supremacy as the filthiest person alive. Beneath this seedy exterior, however, some have seen a brilliant and biting satire of our obsession for fame and lengths one will go to achieve it. This original Japanese re-release poster for the 25th anniversary of the film’s release is folded once in the middle and in very fine condition.

PEOPLE WILL TALK (1951) 16410

Original 20th Century Fox Insert Poster (14×36).  Very fine condition.

Additional DescriptionMore Details
Joseph L. Mankiewicz directed this brilliant little film the year after he won two Oscars for the immortal ALL ABOUT EVE. Cary Grant plays Dr. Noah Praetorius, a doctor who believes that a healthy and balanced mind can cure a person's ills as well or better as handfuls of pills might. He believes in treating his patients as well as their diseases. This gets him into some considerable trouble with his colleagues at the clinic. Add a bit of love interest in the person of the lovely Jeanne Crain and you have this sparkling witty comedy. The movie was based on a German play by Curt Goetz, "Dr. Praetorius." And a sophisticated film it is, too, with one of Grant's best and really least appreciated performances. Thanks be to God for Joe Mankiewicz!
