Additional DescriptionMore Details

This story revolves around two aging mobsters and their gin-soaked moll who kidnap a Beverly Hills socialite. Through a series of misadventures, the four end up in a remote geologist’s cabin stalked by a beautiful but deadly “she monster” in a skin-tight cat suit. This was Ashcroft’s first directorial effort, and he was so overwhelmed that he asked Ed Wood to act as a consultant. The result was a film that one critic wagged, “It’s so horrible, it’s awesome.” Professional restoration has corrected edge wear with some creasing and a surface tear on the right side of the image area. This original three sheet poster is linen-backed and in very fine minus condition.

STRANGERS ON A TRAIN (1951) 13777

Original Warner Bros. Three Sheet Poster (41×81).  Linen backed.  Fine plus condition.

Additional DescriptionMore Details
Original Warner Bros. Three Sheet Poster (41x81) for the Alfred Hitchcock mystery thriller, STRANGERS ON A TRAIN (1951)—starring Farley Granger, Ruth Roman, and Robert Walker. You do my murder and I'll do yours. This is the nasty bargain that Farley Granger and Robert Walker make in one of our favorite Hitchcock films. There's a subliminal homosexual subtext from the fawning Walker and a snotty above-it-all knowingness from Granger that make this one of the most delicious and scary of Hitchcock's 1950s masterpieces. The story came from the novel by Patricia Highsmith, author of the equally lurid THE TALENTED MR. RIPLEY. We think that the three sheet is one of the best posters on the film. This poster is linen backed with some minor restoration at the fold lines and other touch-up. Fine plus condition.
