MAU-MAU (1955) 6996

Original Rock-Price Productions Window Card (14×22). Near mint condition.

Additional DescriptionMore Details
This is an original Rock-Price Productions Window Card (14x22) for the Elwood Price exploitation documentary, MAU-MAU (1955)—narrated by NBC newsman Chet Huntley. This supposed documentary shows the rise of the African resistance movement known as “Mau-Mau” against British rule in East Africa in the early 1950’s but in reality was an opportunity to show as many bare-breasted African women as possible. Director Price took the completed film to most of the big studios and television networks, but they all rejected it. Finally, he took it to exploitation legend Dan Sonney, who marketed it as an “outlaw” picture—one that was “too hot” for Hollywood. This original window card is in near mint condition.

But when co-star Dean Martin refused to work with anybody else, Fox rehired Monroe. But when Monroe died in August of 1962, Fox decided to scrap the whole project. LET IT BE (1970) 6759

Original United Artists One Sheet Poster (27×41).  Folded. Fine plus condition.

Additional DescriptionMore Details
This is an original United Artists one sheet poster for the Beatles concert film, LET IT BE (1970). After the release of YELLOW SUBMARINE, the Beatles had one more movie obligation to United Artists. It was early 1969 and the most famous rock group in the world had just released THE BEATLES, also called The White Album, in which the disparate aspirations of the individual group members was more in evidence. The phantasmagoria of the psychedelic period in The Beatles music was ended. LET IT BE was attempt to record the group on film rehearsing and performing. By all accounts making the movie was an excruciating experience for The Beatles. Filming was at first held at the cold and drafty Twickenham Studios and then later in the converted basement studio at Apple's headquarters. LET IT BE shows the group essentially at the end of their career as a band, and the famous rooftop concert which is the end of the film was the last time that The Beatles played together for an audience. The film also features keyboard player Billy Preston, who sat in as a "fifth" Beatle for the production of the film. This iconic poster is one of the nicest posters of the Fab Four. The poster is folded and in fine plus condition with only slight wear in the border area.
