SUDDENLY, LAST SUMMER (1959) 2187
Original Columbia Pictures One Sheet Poster (27×41). Good.
This is an original Columbia Pictures One Sheet Poster (27x41) for the Joseph L. Mankiewicz dramatic classic, SUDDENLY, LAST SUMMER (1959)—starring Elizabeth Taylor, Katharine Hepburn, and Montgomery Clift. Based on a play by the very successful Broadway icon Tennessee Williams, the screenplay was skillfully adapted by Gore Vidal. Set in New Orleans in 1937, Hepburn plays a lady of means who is mourning the loss of her son. She wants to donate a million dollars to the hospital where Clift is a doctor if he will perform a lobotomy on her niece Taylor. The young woman has been traumatized by what she witnessed last summer. Tennessee Williams never forgave his own mother for letting his sister Rose have a lobotomy to “cure” her anxiety problems. The whole story turns on the character of the son Sebastian, who is never seen in the film. Supposedly, dead of a heart attack, the audience finally discovers that he was murdered by a group of youths because of his homosexuality. Both Taylor and Hepburn were nominated for Oscars. It was the eighth nomination for Hepburn and the third nomination for Taylor. This original one sheet poster is in good condition with some tears in the border areas. Ask us about restoration and linen backing.
SUDDENLY (1954) 19759
Original United Artists Six Sheet Poster (81×81). Very fine condition.

Sinatra gives an outstanding and multi-dimensional performance as the ruthless criminal mastermind of this plot. Supposedly, Lee Harvey Oswald watched SUDDENLY just days before he assassinated President Kennedy. History imitating art? This original six sheet poster is in very fine condition.
STRAW DOGS (1972) U.S. thee sheet
Original ABC Pictures Three Sheet Poster (41×81). Folded. Very fine plus condition.
Original ABC Pictures Three Sheet Poster (41x81) for the Sam Peckinpah ultra violent thriller, STRAW DOGS (1971)—starring Dustin Hoffman, Susan George, Peter Vaughan, and T. P. McKenna. After moving to Britain to get away from violence in America, Astrophysicist David (Hoffman) and his wife Amy (George) are bullied and taken advantage of by local construction workers. The enigmatic title comes from Chinese philospher Lao-tzu who wrote, “Heaven and earth are not humane, and regard the people as straw dogs.” This highly charged, extremely intense, and brutally violent film redefined cinema violence forever. This original three sheet poster is folded and in very fine plus condition.
STRANGE CONFESSION (1945) 19949
Original Universal Pictures Three Sheet Poster (41.5×79). Linen-backed. Fine condition.
Original Universal Pictures Three Sheet Poster (41.5x79) for the John Hoffman horror mystery, STRANGE CONFESSION (1945)—starring Lon Chaney Jr., Brenda Joyce, J. Carrol Naish, and Milburn Stone. This was the fifth installment of the Universal “Inner Sanctum” series made between 1943 and 1945 and all starring horror all-star Lon Chaney Jr. This film was actually a remake of an earlier Universal film, THE MAN WHO RECLAIMED HIS HEAD (1934). Chaney is a scientist working on a cure for influenza. He is victimized by his unscrupulous boss (Naish), who releases the vaccine before it is ready, resulting in the death of Chaney’s young son. Wonderful graphics! This original three sheet poster is linen-backed and in fine condition.

(McCrea in one of his best performances) and his wife (Drew). Grey’s congregation includes some of Hollywood’s finest character actors of the time. This original one sheet poster is folded and in fine condition with only some fold separations.
STAGE STRUCK (1958) 4895
STAGE STRUCK (1958) U.S. Three sheet poster. Unused.
Sidney Lumet's 1958 remake of MORNING GLORY (1933) is yet another fable about the cold nature of showbiz. The beautiful and talented Eva Lovelace (Strasberg) is a small town actress who comes to New York to make it big on the stage, charming producers, playwrights, and actors in the process. Eva and Broadway bigwig Lewis Easton (Fonda) fall in love, but temporarily quell the romance for the sake of maintaining a professional relationship. Meanwhile, Eva manages to usurp the aging Rita Vernon's (Joan Greenwood) starring role in Lewis' latest production. Think 42ND STREET meets ALL ABOUT EVE. STAGE STRUCK features Jack Weston in a bit part and Christopher Plummer in his big-screen debut. Condition is very fine, never used, folded.
STAGE FRIGHT (1950) 8062
Original Warner Bros. One Sheet Poster (27×1). Folded. Good condition.
Original Warner Bros. One Sheet Poster (27x41) for the Alfred Hitchcock crime thriller, STAGE FRIGHT (1950)—starring Jane Wyman, Marlene Dietrich, Michael Wilding, and Richard Todd. Set in London, this is the story of a struggling actress (Wyman) who tries to help a friend (Todd) prove his innocence when he’s accused of murdering the husband of a high society entertainer. Making wonderful use of black comedy, this film boasts excellent performances from Wyman shifting effortlessly from aspiring actress to love struck protectress. Dietrich is hilariously catty as the flamboyant theater star and Todd is wickedly suspicious as the suspected murderer. This original one sheet poster is folded and in good condition with some major fold separations. This poster would present beautifully if linen-backed. Ask us about linen-backing.
SPENCERS MOUNTAIN (1963) 955
Original Warner Bros. Half Sheet Poster (22×28). Rolled. Very fine plus condition.
Original Warner Bros. Half Sheet Poster (22x28) for the Delmer Daves family drama, SPENCER’S MOUNTAIN (1963)—starring Henry Fonda, Maureen O’Hara, and James MacArthur. This excellent drama is based on the autobiographical novel by Earl Hamner Jr., which also inspired the popular TV series “The Waltons.” However, instead of depression-era Appalachia, the Spencers make their lives in contemporary Wyoming. Indeed, the film benefits remarkably from the breathtaking location in Grand Teton National Park. Fonda and O’Hara give wonderfully warm and sensitive performances, as does MacArthur as their oldest and gifted son. This original half sheet poster is rolled and in very fine plus condition.
