Original New Yorker Films Poster (24 x 41) for the Ted Bafaloukos reggae music drama, ROCKERS (1978)—starring Leroy “Horsemouth” Wallace, Richard “Dirty Harry” Hall, Monica Craig, and Marjorie Norman. Most of the main characters are real people playing themselves—especially the reggae artists and producers. This film turns out to be an insightful depiction of Jamaican society in the late 1970s. Originally folded, this poster is in very fine plus condition. Please note that this poster is not a one sheet, but rather is a special size. Rare.
ROAD HOUSE (1948) 8740
Original 20th Century Fox One Sheet Poster (27×41). Linen-backed. Good condition with some restoration touch-up and repair of missing chips. Minor water stain in upper border area.
This is an original 20th Century Fox One Sheet Poster (27x41) for the Jean Negulesco film-noir thriller, ROAD HOUSE (1948)—starring Ida Lupino, Cornel Wilde, and Richard Widmark. Roadhouse owner, Jefty Robbins (Widmark), hires sultry, tough-talking torch singer Lily (Lupino) against the advise of his manager Pete Morgan (Wilde). When Robbins falls for Lily, she turns her attentions to the Pete who is playing hard to get. This is certainly one of Lupino’s best performances, and her rendition of the song “One for My Baby” is a wonderful combination of alcohol and cigarettes. Widmark is at his best when he is playing a “psycho villain” role, and Jefty’s murderous jealously produces a twisted plot to “punish” the two lovers. The direction, screenplay, and cinematography are all excellent in this film. This original one sheet poster is linen-backed and in good condition with some restoration touch-up and repair of missing chips. Minor water stain in upper border area.
RIGET (1994) 19798
Original October Films One Sheet Poster (27×41). Rolled. Very fine plus condition.
This is an original October Films One Sheet Poster (27x41) for the Lars von Trier Danish TV mini-series, RIGET (1994)—starring Udo Kier, Ernst-Hugo Jaregard, and Kirsten Rolffes. Released in the U.S. under the title, THE KINGDOM, this bizarre series takes place in the most technologically advanced hospital in Denmark. However, a rash of uncanny occurrences has the staff questioning their faith in science. Trier, often compared with the American director David Lynch, founded the modern Danish “dogma” style with its grainy colors, rash use of camera movement and editing, and quirky acting styles. This original rolled one sheet poster is in very fine plus condition.

RICHARD III (1955) 8732
Original British One Sheet Poster (27×41). Stone lithograph. Linen-backed. Fine.
This is an original British One Sheet Poster (27x41) for the Laurence Olivier Shakespearean masterpiece, RICHARD III (1955). In addition to Olivier directing and playing the title role, he is joined by four other knighted British thespians—Cedric Hardwicke, Ralph Richardson, John Gielgud, and Stanley Baker. The beautiful and talented Claire Bloom plays The Lady Anne. This is probably the finest example of a Machiavellian monarch on film. King Richard was capable of using deception, manipulation, and outright murder to achieve his goals. Laurence Olivier was the greatest Shakespearean actor of his time, and this role was certainly one of his best. This original British stone lithograph one sheet poster is linen-backed and in fine condition with some touch-up to the fold lines and restoration to the border area.
RESERVOIR DOGS (1992) 5006
Original Miramax Films One Sheet Poster (27×40). Very fine condition.
This is an original Miramax Films One Sheet Poster (27x40) for the Quentin Tarantino crime thriller, RESERVOIR DOGS (1992)—starring Harvey Keitel, Tim Roth, Michael Madsen, and Chris Penn. Written and directed by Tarantino, this unusual crime drama tells the story of a gang of thieves who carry out a jewel heist. But when the police arrive before the gang can make their getaway, they all suspect that one of them is an informant. Even though this is one of the most violent films ever made, neither the violence nor the criminal lifestyle is glorified. Rather, the violence is used to develop the personalities of each character. This is Tarantino’s second film, and when it appeared at the Sundance Film Festival in 1992, it garnered much critical acclaim and made the director an instant legend. This original one sheet poster is in very fine - never folded - condition. Please note that the size - measured exactly at 27x40 - confirm that this is the original sheet. MovieArt will sell no reproductions. The film received limited distribution and original posters are scarce.
