AMERICAN FILM THEATER 2ND SEASON 19914

The American Film Theater was an attempt to bring theater to film audiences. The series was produced by Ely Landau. Tickets were sold by subscription for the entire series. Films of these plays were exhibited in 500 theaters in 400 cities. This poster for the second series advertised THE MAN IN THE GLASS BOOTH, IN CELEBRATION, Jean Genet's THE MAIDS, Bertholt Brecht's GALILEO and JACQUES BREL IS ALIVE AND WELL AND LIVING IN PARIS. An interesting piece of non-Hollywood film ephemera.
