Original Warner Brothers 40×60 Poster for the George Stevens western masterpiece, GIANT (1956) starring Elizabeth Taylor, Rock Hudson, James Dean, and Mercedes McCambridge. Based on the novel by Edna Ferber, this sprawling epic of a Texas cattle rancher and his family and associates spans many years, beginning with the newlywed couple and following them into their middle age. Taylor gives one of the strongest performances of her career, and James Dean delivers the final performance of his too short career. The cinematography and production design are consistently beautiful. The film was nominated for 10 Academy Award—including Best Picture, Best Actor for both Hudson and Dean, and Best Supporting Actress for McCambridge. The film won the Best Director Oscar for Stevens. This scare oversized original poster has been professionally restored and is in very fine condition. This poster is considered one in half a dozen know copies.

Original MGM Style A Half Sheet Poster (22×28) for the Vincente Minnelli romantic drama, THE BAD AND THE BEAUTIFUL (1952) starring Lana Turner, Kirk Douglas, Walter Pidgeon, Dick Powell, and Gloria Grahame. The film tells the story of an actress, a director, and a screenwriter who are asked to help revive the career of ruthless Hollywood producer Jonathan Shields (Douglas). All three are reluctant because they have been used and betrayed by Shields in the past. Based on the career of David O. Selznick, this well-written drama was nominated for six Academy Awards and won five Oscars—including Best Supporting Actress to Grahame and Best Screenplay to Charles Schnee. This original half sheet poster with a luminous Lana Turner in the clutches of Kirk Douglas is folded and in very fine condition—with some pinholes in the corners, minor edge wear, light smudging in the borders, and minor tears in the bottom right corner and border.

Original MGM Three Sheet Poster (41×81) for the John Frankenheimer racecar drama, GRAND PRIX (1966) starring James Garner, Eva Marie Saint, and Yves Montand. This film has a soap opera plot pasted on some really great racing scenes with exceptional cinematography and a great musical score. The real stars of the film are the beautiful Formula 1 “cigar” cars of the 60s. The film also chronicles how the racing world was changing from the gentlemen’s league of the 50s to the overtly commercial and brutally competitive environment that F1 racing was to become. This original three sheet poster is linen-backed and in fine plus condition, with only a minor water stain in the bottom border area.

Original Paramount Pictures One Sheet Poster (27×41) for the Norman Taurog science fiction comedy, VISIT TO A SMALL PLANET (1960) starring Jerry Lewis, Joan Blackman, Earl Holliman, and Fred Clark. Lewis plays a childish alien named Kreton, who decides to visit Earth. The screenplay was adapted from a popular Broadway play by Gore Vidal that opened at the Boothe Theater on February 7, 1957 and ran for 388 performances. This was the last studio picture for Lewis under his old Paramount contract before he formed his own independent production company. This original one sheet poster is folded and in very fine condition.

Original 1972 Re-Release Italian Quattro Poster (79×55) for the Sergio Leone western masterpiece, THE GOOD, THE BAD AND THE UGLY (1966)—starring Eli Wallach, Clint Eastwood, and Lee Van Cleef. Easily one of the best westerns ever made, this sprawling epic traces the adventures of three gunfighters looking for stolen gold. With remarkable style and grace, this western morality play unfolds slowly to reveal more and more about each complex character. This original Italian poster is folded and in very fine condition.
