This film is a timeless masterpiece of the lives of ordinary folks in a small Texas town in the 1950s. Original 20th Century-Fox One Sheet poster for the John Ford iconic drama, THE GRAPES OF WRATH (1940) starring Henry Fonda, Jane Darwell, and John Carradine. This film is the story of the Joad family, who are forced to leave their land in Oklahoma because of drought and poverty. The characters are exquisitely brought to life from the pages of the John Steinbeck novel. Stunning black and white cinematography by Gregg Toland enhances the overwhelming feeling of desperation and emptiness that suffuses the entire film. When the Joads decide to abandon the dustbowl of Oklahoma and go to California to get jobs they’ve only heard about, they encounter every hardship imaginable along the way. And when they do finally arrive, they are forced to live in shantytowns and work for wages that barely prevent starvation. With incredibly powerful performances from the entire cast, this film remains a shockingly realistic yet poetic portrayal of the sufferings so many families experienced in the Great Depression. The film was nominated for seven Academy Awards, including Best Picture. Original Warner Brothers Six Sheet Poster (81×81) for the Michael Curtiz musical biography, YANKEE DOODLE DANDY (1942)—starring James Cagney, Joan Leslie, and Walter Huston. This is a musical portrait of James M. Cohan—who wrote, produced, directed, and starred in his own musical shows for which he composed many memorable songs. Known as “the man who owned Broadway” in the decade before World War I, Cohan is considered to be father of American musical comedy. Cagney won the Oscar for Best Actor, and the film also won Oscars for Best Music and Best Sound Recording. It was also nominated in five other categories—including Best Original Story, Best Director, and Best Picture. This original six sheet poster is folded and in fine condition—with only some minor pinholes, a light stain on the right side, and small chips missing at the crossfold and border area.

Original United Artists Italian Quattro Poster (79×55) for the Edwin Sherin western, VALDEZ IS COMING (1971) starring Burt Lancaster, Susan Clark, Frank Silvera, and John Cypher. Lancaster portrays the stoic Valdez, a former cavalry scout of Mexican descent and veteran of the Apache wars. He encounters the vicious injustice meted out by a racist rancher and gunrunner, Tanner (Cypher). This experience transforms Valdez into a formidable opponent. He proceeds to kill all the men who don’t recognize his code of honor, meanwhile stealing and wooing Tanner’s woman. This original Italian poster is folded and in fine plus condition.

Original MGM Italian Quattro Poster (79×55) for the Michelangelo Antonioni mystery thriller, BLOW-UP (1966) starring Venessa Redgrave, Sarah Miles, David Hemmings, and John Castle. Hemmings plays a successful London fashion photographer who meets a mysterious woman (Redgrave) and also notices something very suspicious on one of his photographs taken of her in a park. He doesn’t realize that he has photographed a murder until he blows up his negatives uncovering the unsettling details. The film received two Academy Award nominations: Best Director and Best Original Screenplay. This original Italian poster is folded and in very fine condition.

Original Italian Due Fogli Poster (39×55) for the Carol Reed comedy thriller, OUR MAN IN HAVANA (1960) starring Alec Guinness, Burl Ives, Maureen O’Hara, Ernie Kovacs, and Noel Coward. The Castro government gave permission for this film, which presents the former government of Batista in an unflattering light and condemns American and British meddling, to film on location in Havana only months after the revolution. The script had to be submitted to the Ministry of the Interior, which insisted on 39 “corrections” to the dialogue. This original Italian poster is folded and in very fine condition.

Original Walt Disney Productions One Sheet Poster (27×41) for the Jack Kinney short animation classic, HOW TO FISH (1942) starring the ever-popular Goofy. This delightful short is one of Disney’s pseudo-educational cartoons and features the bumbling and inarticulate Goofy trying his hand with the old fishing pole. A wonderful and charming cartoon short poster from The Walt Disney studio. This original one sheet poster is linen-backed and in fine plus condition, and very rare. This would look wonderful in a lake house or beach cabin!

Original Columbia Pictures Advance Style B One Sheet Poster (27×40) for the Sam Raimi comic book action fantasy, SPIDER-MAN 2 (2004) starring Tobey Maguire, Kirsten Dunst, James Franco, and Alfred Molina. With a budget of $200 million, the film shared the record for the most expensive American movie ever made with TITANIC (1997). That record was later beaten by Peter Jackson’s KING KONG (2005). This sequel took the record for the biggest opening day ever with 40.4 million from its predecessor, SPIDER-MAN (2002). Pre-production scripting, and casting were all finished within a year of the first film’s release.
