KEY LARGO (1948) 19441

full.keylargo Ins 19441

Original Warner Brothers Insert Poster (14×36) for the John Huston film-noir masterpiece, KEY LARGO (1948) starring Humphrey Bogart, Edward G. Robinson, Lauren Bacall, and Claire Trevor. While mostly remembered, and rather inaccurately, as another in the on-screen romances between Bogart and Bacall, this story of expatriate gangsters led by mob boss Johnny Rocco (Robinson) commandeering a sleepy tropical hotel in the middle of a hurricane turned out to be one of the best movies of the 1940′s. Robinson is certainly one of the best film villains, and his portrayal of Rocco is based on the real life story of gangster Lucky Luciano who had been deported some years before. Claire Trevor won the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress for her unforgettable role as Rocco’s alcoholic moll with a heart of gold. This poster is signed in pen by the incomparable Lauren Bacall. This original insert poster was originally folded and is in very fine condition.

full.meanstreets-british quad

Unlike other De Niro characters, Johnny Boy is not unstable or psychopathic but rather just wild and stupid. This rare and beautiful silkscreen British Quad poster for the Academy Cinema One in Oxford with artwork by Peter Strausfeld is rolled and in near mint condition. Rare.

THE GIRL IN THE KREMLIN (1957) 21293

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

Original Universal Pictures Mexican Scene Lobby Card (13×17) for the Russell Birdwell mystery, THE GIRL IN THE KREMLIN (1957) starring Lex Barker, Zsa Zsa Gabor, and Jeffrey Stone. The film’s preposterous plot begins in Moscow with nurse Gabor giving Stalin’s double a lethal injection. She then flees with the real Stalin with a lot of money and a nuke. Fast forward a few years to Berlin where another Gabor enlists the help of a former agent (Barker) to help her find her twin sister. It all ends in a Greek monastery with both Gabors battling it out. The film is unbelievably bad—but still a lot of fun, especially if you ever liked Zsa Zsa. This original Mexican scene lobby card is in very good condition.

JAWS 3 (1983) 1354

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

Original Universal Pictures One Sheet Poster (27×41) for the Joe Alves horror thriller, JAWS 3 (1983) starring Dennis Quaid, Bess Armstrong, Simon MacCorkindale, and Louis Gossett Jr. With poor 3-D effects, a laughable plot, zero character development, and a total lack of tension or excitement—this film did not receive critical acclaim. Indeed, the film was nominated for 5 Razzie Awards—including Worst Picture, Worst Screenplay, and Worst Director. This original one sheet poster is folded and in very fine condition.

JEKYLL AND HYDE… TOGETHER AGAIN (1982) 1355

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

Original Paramount Pictures One Sheet Poster (27×41) for the Jerry Belson science fiction spoof, JEKYLL AND HYDE…TOGETHER AGAIN (1982) starring Mark Blankfield, Bess Armstrong, Krista Errickson, Tim Thomerson, and Cassandra Peterson. This film tells the story of Dr. Jekyll (Blankfield) who discovers a new drug that can turn a shy and timid doctor into a wild and sex-crazed animal. Cassandra Peterson, TV’s infamous Elvira Mistress of the Dark, appropriately plays the role of “Busty Nurse” in this sex romp. Some critics think this spoof on the 80s drug culture is a riot, while others think all the drug humor is dated and boorish. This original one sheet poster is folded and in very fine condition.

CISCO PIKE (1971) 21287

full.ciscopike-color stills-21287

Three Original Columbia Pictures Lithographed Color Stills (8×10) for the Bill L. Norton drama, CISCO PIKE (1972) starring Kris Kristofferson, Karen Black, Gene Hackman, and Harry Dean Stanton. With a screenplay by Robert Towne, Kristofferson is memorable in his first starring role about a modern day troubadour down on his luck. He is amazingly charismatic and even sympathetic even though he is a drunken pothead who cheats on his girlfriend (Black) and races to unload $10,000 worth of marijuana in a single weekend. The film is a wonderful time capsule of the hippie music scene in L.A. in the early 1970s. These original color stills are in very fine plus condition.

TRISTANA (1970) 21294

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

Original French Poster (24×31) for the Luis Bunuel drama, TRIATANA (1970) starring Catherine Deneuve, Fernando Rey, and Franco Nero. Dark and surreal, this film is a simple and sad tale about its characters as they deal with life, love, loss, and regret. Deneuve gives one of her many brilliant performances as a woman who evolves from an innocent young girl with ideals about love and relationships into a bitter and cynical older woman who has lost all those ideals. The film was nominated for Best Foreign Language Film. This original French poster is folded and in very fine condition.
