DRACULA (1931) 16354
Original 1951 Realart reissue Half Sheet Poster (22×28). Paper-backed. Very good condition with only upper right hand corner missing.
This is an original 1951 Realart re-release Half Sheet Poster for the Todd Browning Universal Pictures horror classic, DRACULA (1931)—starring Bela Lugosi and Helen Chandler. Based more on the Hamilton Deane Broadway play than on the original novel by Bram Stoker, this early “talkie” set the horror genre in motion and catapulted Lugosi, who already was the star of the Broadway play for three years, to instant fame. There had been a silent version of the story, NOSFERATU (1922)—starring Max Schrenk in the title role. But Lugosi made the famous Count into a handsome, courtly, civilized aristocrat who mesmerized and charmed his victims. This original 1951 re-release half sheet poster is paper-backed and is graded in very good condition because of a small missing upper right corner piece. The poster has been skillfully repaired and presents as very fine. This style Realart half sheet - with the red background and superior image of Lugosi is rarely seen.
DRACULAS DAUGHTER (1936) 20028
Original Universal Pictures Scene Lobby Card (11×14). Paper-backed. Very fine condition.
Original Universal Pictures Scene Lobby Card (11x14) for the Lambert Hillyer horror classic, DRACULA’S DAUGHTER (1936)—starring Otto Kruger, Gloria Holden, Marguerite Churchill, and Edward Van Sloan. In this sequel to the original Dracula, Prof. Van Helsing (Sloan) is in danger of prosecution for the murder of Count Dracula, but a strange and hypnotic woman (Holden) steals the Count’s body and cremates it. Bloodless corpses start appearing in London again, and Hungarian countess Marya Zaleska sees the aid of psychiatrist Jeffrey Garth (Kruger) in freeing herself of a mysterious evil influence. This is a horror film with a strong sexual subtext. Holden is wonderful with her exotic Slavic features and hypnotic eyes. She has a tragic aura about her as a vampire who wants to escape her cursed existence. The film was originally to be written and directed by James Whale, but alas his script was so “outrageous” to the producers that he was taken off the project. This wonderfully eerie scene card is paper-backed and in very fine condition. Presents beautifully.

Quaid gives an excellent performance, frequently injecting enjoyable comic relief. Although the effects might be considered primitive by today’s standards, the film treats us to some exceptional dream sequences that worked well for the time. This original one sheet poster is folded and in very fine condition.
