GOLD RUSH MAISIE (1940) 9414A
Original MGM Scene Lobby Card (11×14). Very fine condition.
Original MGM Scene Lobby Card (11x14) for the Edwin L. Marin comedy, GOLD RUSH MAISIE (1940)—starring Ann Southern, Lee Bowman, Slim Summerville, and Virginia Weidler. In a role originally intended for Jean Harlow, Southern portrays the brassy Brooklyn burlesque dancer Maisie Ravier. Southern made ten films playing this character, and she also played Maisie on a popular CBS radio program from 1945—1947. Though primarily a comedy, this film has a serious side when Maisie meets a family of dust bowl farmers who have lost their farm and become migrant workers. Except for THE GRAPES OF WRATH (1940), very few scripts of the day dealt sympathetically with the plight of these families. Ann Southern was one of the better actresses of her day -- and one of the most underrated figures in Hollywood's history.

GOLDFINGER (1964) 16304
GOLDFINGER (1964) U.S. 24 sheet (Exterior Billboard) 9 feet by 20 feet on multiple panels. Very fine condition; never used.
Simply the largest Shirley Eaton poster in the world, and one of the wildest artifacts of the James Bond series. GOLDFINGER is for many, the Ultimate James Bond Film, although many would come after it. A great inset image of Sean Connery as 007, and the Girl Gilded. While several copies of this billboard has surfaced, this is one of the most coveted large movie posters.
GOLDFINGER (1964) 19352
Original Japanese B2 Poster (20×29). Linen-backed. Very fine plus condition with only slight fold wear.
This is an original Japanese B2 Poster (20x29) for the Guy Hamilton spy thriller, GOLDFINGER (1964)—starring Sean Connery, Honor Blackman, and Gert Frobe. This has been described as the quintessential, definitive Bond film. While investigating a gold magnate’s (Frobe) smuggling, Bond uncovers a plot to contaminate the Fort Knox gold reserve. The character of Goldfinger is the most famous Bond villain and was spoofed in well over 100 other productions, the most famous being AUSTIN POWERS IN GOLDMEMBER (2002). This original Japanese poster is linen-backed and in very fine plus condition with only slight fold wear.
GONE WITH THE WIND (1939) 12752
Original Selznick 1940 Six Sheet Poster (81×81). Stone lithograph. Linen-backed. Very fine condition.
This is an original Selznick 1940 “Limited Engagement” Six Sheet Poster for the Victor Fleming Civil War masterpiece, GONE WITH THE WIND (1939)—starring Vivien Leigh, Clark Gable, Olivia de Havilland, and Leslie Howard. Based on the epic novel by Margaret Mitchell, this film is certainly one of the greatest films ever made, bringing together a stellar list of talent in Hollywood at the time. Not only are all the performances outstanding, the scenery and costumes are sumptuous, the cinematography by Ernest Haller and Ray Rennahan (shot entirely in Technicolor) is glorious, and the music of Max Steiner is memorable. The film was nominated for 13 Academy Awards—including Best Picture, Best Actress to Leigh, Best Director to Fleming, and Best Cinematography. The poster for issued for the year 1940, and is considered original material. This is certainly the best poster depicting the burning of Atlanta. GONE WITH THE WIND was released in a few markets at the end of 1939, but the vast majority of its run began after January 1940. Some posters have erroneously been tagged as "roadshow" for GWTW. This is a misnomer. The film was never released as a roadshow attraction. Rather, Selznick rolled out a very slow release for the movie intended to build interest and positive word-of-mouth buzz over time. A more successful campaign for the release of the film could hardly have been accomplished. Adjusted for ticket price inflation, GONE WITH THE WIND has been (for decades) the highest grossing film ever made. This original stone lithograph six sheet poster is linen-backed and in very fine condition.
GONE WITH THE WIND (1939) 15547
Original MGM 1940 Re-issued One Sheet Poster (27×41). Linen-backed. Fine plus condition.
This is an original Selznick-MGM 1940 One Sheet Poster (27x41) for the David O. Selznick Civil War masterpiece, GONE WITH THE WIND (1939)—starring Vivien Leigh, Clark Gable, Olivia de Havilland, and Leslie Howard. 1940 posters for GWTW are considered original posters. Though the film was initially shown in 1939, exhibition continued through 1940 and in some cases into 1941. There are several styles of one sheets for GONE WITH THE WIND. This style, the so-called "kissing" style, is the best style to evoke the romantic aspects of the movie. Based on the epic novel of the old south by Margaret Mitchell, this film is certainly one of the greatest films ever made, bringing together the best talent in Hollywood at the time. Not only are all the performances outstanding, the scenery and costumes are sumptuous, the cinematography by Ernest Haller and Ray Rennahan (shot entirely in Technicolor) is glorious, and the musical score by Max Steiner is one of the most famous in the cinema. The film was nominated for 13 Academy Awards—including Best Picture, Best Actress to Leigh, Best Director to Fleming, and Best Cinematography. This 1940 Selznick one sheet poster is linen-backed and in fine plus condition.
GORGO (1961) 6498
Original MGM Insert Poster (14×36). Folded. Very fine.
Original MGM Insert Poster (14x36) for the Eugene Lourie sci-fi cult classic, GORGO (1961)—starring Bill Travers, William Sylvester, Vincent Winter, and Christopher Rhodes. When a baby sea monster is captured off the Irish coast and put in a London circus, Gorgo (the English “Godzilla) escapes and wreaks havoc on the city. But when Gorgo’s mother comes to reclaim her baby, the excitement and destruction get notched up considerably. Lourie directed other giant monster films and knew how to make the action sequences fast and exciting. The production values were definitely better than the Japanese monster movies. Both of the monsters—mother and son—look reasonably realistic. Solid acting by all the main characters and a good musical score further enhance the film’s effectiveness. The insert poster is folded, somewhat irregularly -- but the condition is very fine.

Based on the famous Jonathan Swift novel, this family favorite was nominated for Best Original Score and Best Original Song. This original British front-of-house card is in very fine condition with some very minor paper loss at the lower left corner
