Original Allied Pictures Six Sheet Poster (81x81) for the George Melford romantic western, THE COWBOY COUNSELLOR (1932) starring Hoot Gibson, Sheila Bromley, Jack Rutherford, and Fred Gilman. Director Melford was one of the best visual stylists of the silent era beginning his directorial career in 1911 and ending in 1946. Besides directing, Melford was also a character actor throughout his career, continuing until 1960. In this film, Hoot Gibson plays a confidence man posing as a lawyer selling phony law books. Complications arises when he has to defend a young man falsely accused of robbery. This original stone lithograph six sheet poster is linen-backed and in very fine condition.
