VERTIGO (1958) 20197
Original Paramount Pictures Scene Lobby Card (11×14). Fine plus condition.
This is an original Paramount Pictures Scene Lobby Card (11x14) for the Alfred Hitchcock mystery thriller masterpiece, VERTIGO (1958)—starring James Stewart, Kim Novak, and Barbara Bel Geddes. This Hitchcock classic tells the story of a former San Francisco detective (Stewart) suffering from acrophobia who investigates the strange activities of an old friend’s wife, all the while becoming dangerously obsessed with her. Hitchcock creates some of his most hypnotic scenes in this film as well as a general sense of unease and dread-- even in seemingly banal situations. Bernard Herrmann’s excellent score is a perfect compliment to this complex and suspenseful story. The score is perhaps more important here than it most films, because much of the story is told simply with Stewart’s and Novak’s facial expressions and the music. Stewart gives one of the best performances of his career, and Novak is completely convincing in her dual roles. This original scene lobby card is in fine plus condition, with only some minor smudging and staining in the borders.
TORN CURTAIN (1966) 1983
Original Universal Pictures One Sheet Poster (27×41). Very fine.
This is an original Universal Pictures One Sheet Poster (27x41) for the Alfred Hitchcock Cold War thriller, TORN CURTAIN (1966)—starring Paul Newman and Julie Andrews. Newman plays an America nuclear scientist who pretends to defect to East Germany in order to trick a communist scientist into revealing a missile formula. Andrews plays Newman’s bewildered and abandoned fiancée. This film is superbly acted, beautifully filmed with great music, dialogue, and plot. The taut escape adventure from East Germany is quite memorable. This original one sheet poster is in very fine condition.
TO CATCH A THIEF (1955) 13911
Original Paramount Pictures One Sheet Poster (27×41). Linen-backed. Very Fine.
This is an original Paramount Pictures One Sheet Poster (27x41) for the Alfred Hitchcock thriller, TO CATCH A THIEF (1955)—starring Cary Grant and Grace Kelly. Grant plays a retired jewel thief and Kelly plays a slightly naughty nouveau riche daughter of an oil millionaire. This film was somewhat lighter fare for Hitchcock without his trademark suspense, but with snappy dialogue replete with sexual innuendo. Nominated for three Academy Awards, Robert Burks won the Oscar for Best Color Cinematography. He shot almost the entire film on location on the French Riviera. This original one sheet poster is linen-backed and in very fine condition.
THE WRONG MAN (1956) 20198
Original Warner Bros. Scene Lobby Card (11×14). Very good condition.
Original Warner Bros. Scene Lobby Card (11x14) for the Alfred Hitchcock crime drama, THE WRONG MAN (1956)—starring Henry Fonda, Vera Miles, Anthony Quayle, and Harold J. Stone. This film tells the true story of Manny Balestrero (Fonda), a club musician unjustly accused of an armed robbery. Though Manny vehemently protest his innocence, his actions at every turn seem to belie his guilt. Instead of the usual Hitchcock cameo appearance, the director narrates the prologue, the only time he actually spoke in any of his films. Fonda gives an excellent performance of the quietly stunned Manny who slowly descends into total helplessness and powerlessness as he wends his way through the criminal justice system. This original scene card is in very good condition, with only minor edge wear and some pinholes.
THE TROUBLE WITH HARRY (1955) 20196
Original Paramount Pictures Scene Lobby Card (11X14). Very good condition.
This is an original Paramount Pictures Scene Lobby Card (11x14) for the Alfred Hitchcock comedy thriller, THE TROUBLE WITH HARRY (1955)—starring Edmund Gwenn, Mildred Natwick, John Forsythe, and Shirley MacLaine in her first screen roll. While many Hitchcock films had humor in them, this was full-fledged black comedy, which was mostly a subtle satire of 50s morality and conformity. The acting performances are superb and are the most delightful aspect of the film-- as there are no expected Hitchcock action sequences, like a spectacular climax on a national monument or bathtub murders. This scene card is in very good condition, with only minor scuffing and numerous pinholes in the corners. Look for a performance by Jerry Mathers, before he became TV's Beaver!
THE PARADINE CASE (1947) 20188

Original Selznick Releasing Organization Scene Lobby Card (11x14) for the Alfred Hitchcock crime thriller, THE PARADINE CASE (1947)—starring Gregory Peck, Ann Todd, Charles Laughton, Ethel Barrymore, and Alida Valli. Adapted from a novel by Robert Hichens, this is the story of a happily married London barrister (Peck) who falls in love with the accused poisoner (Valli) he is defending. This was Peck’s second and last film for Hitchcock. Laughton gives one of his best performances as the sadistic and malevolent judge. Barrymore received an Oscar nomination for Best Supporting Actress for her portrayal of the judge’s intimidated and submissive wife. This original scene lobby card is in very fine condition. It does have the National Screen Service embossment in the lower right corner.

Set in London, this is the story of a struggling actress (Wyman) who tries to help a friend (Todd) prove his innocence when he’s accused of murdering the husband of a high society entertainer. Making wonderful use of black comedy, this film boasts excellent performances from Wyman shifting effortlessly from aspiring actress to love struck protectress, from Dietrich who is hilariously catty as the flamboyant theater star, and Todd who is wickedly suspicious as the suspected murderer. This original lobby card of Dietrich and Todd is in very fine condition with only some minor rumpling.

With outstanding performances, especially from Bergman and Peck who portray one of the great romantic couples of movie history, along with stunning cinematography and an Academy Award winning score from Miklos Rozsa – all make this film very memorable. The film had five other Oscar nominations, including Best Picture and Best Director for Hitchcock. This original scene lobby card is in very fine condition.
