Some critics consider this film to be the best film noir ever. It certainly has a wonderful screenplay, incredible cinematography, expert direction, and flawless acting. It has all the noir elements—an innocent man (Mitchum) in over his head, a relentless bad guy (Douglas), and a totally amoral femme fatale (Greer). This was Kirk Douglas's second film, and he and Mitchum both received good reviews for their parts. But the film really belongs to Greer, whose sheer scope of evil will leave you dumbfounded. This original insert poster was originally folded and is in very fine condition.
