This is an original Warner Bros. One Sheet Poster (27x41) for the Michael Curtiz romantic classic, CASABLANCA (1942) starring Humphrey Bogart, Ingrid Bergman, Paul Henreid, and Claude Rains. This title became one of the world's most popular and beloved films of all time with an inspired script by Julius and Phillip Epstein, superlative performances by all, a wonderful score by Max Steiner, and masterful direction by Michael Curtiz. This turbulent love story with harrowing intrigue opened on Thanksgiving Day in 1942 at the Hollywood Theater in New York-- three weeks after the Allies landed at Casablanca. The film catapulted the beautiful Swedish actress Bergman into superstar status. The film also advanced Bogart from his former "gangster" roles to the first of many romantic leads for the popular actor. Bergman had never worked with Bogart before this film and never would again. The movie received eight Academy Award nominations including Best Actor for Bogart, and Best Supporting Actor for Rains. The film won Best Picture, Best Screenplay, and Best Director.
