Original Warner Brothers 40x60 1963 Re-Release Poster for the George Stevens western masterpiece, GIANT (1956) starring Elizabeth Taylor, Rock Hudson, James Dean, and Mercedes McCambridge. Based on the novel by Edna Ferber, this sprawling epic of a Texas cattle rancher, his family and associates spans many years, beginning with the newlywed couple and following them into their middle age. Taylor gives one of the strongest performances of her career, and James Dean delivers the final performance of his too short career. The cinematography and production design are consistently beautiful. The film was nominated for 10 Academy Award—including Best Picture, Best Actor for both Hudson and Dean, and Best Supporting Actress for McCambridge. The film won the Best Director Oscar for Stevens. This 1963 re-issued poster is folded and in very good condition-- with tape stains around all the edges of the poster, some tape on the reverse side, some small holes, and minor fold separations.
