This is an original Warner Brothers Scene Lobby Card (11x14) for the 1946 Howard Hawks film-noir masterpiece, THE BIG SLEEP, starring Humphrey Bogart, Lauren Bacall and Dorothy Malone. One of the best Raymond Chandler novels brought to the big screen, it is a story of private-eye Philip Marlowe (Bogart) who is hired to keep track of General Sternwood's youngest daughter, but in the process he falls in love with her older sister Vivian (Bacall). The delightful and witty banter between the two stars is one of the high points of this film. Though first performing opposite each other in TO HAVE AND HAVE NOT (1944), this film cemented the Bogart/Bacall on-screen and off-screen love affair. This original scene lobby card with a wonderful image of the two screen icons is in fine to very fine condition with only minor surface and edge wear in the white borders.
