The film has a nice, simple feel and would have been comforting to a war-weary America of 1943. This original stone lithograph one sheet poster is linen-backed and in very good plus condition. MY DARLING CLEMENTINE (1946) 14902
Original 20th Century Fox Six Sheet Poster (81×81). Stone lithograph. Linen-backed. Near mint condition.
This is an original 20th Century Fox Six Sheet Poster (81x81) for the John Ford western masterpiece, MY DARLING CLEMENTINE (1946)—starring Henry Fonda, Linda Darnell, Victor Mature, and Cathy Downs. Adapted from Stuart Lake’s book “Wyatt Earp, Frontier Marshal,” the film tells the story of Wyatt Earp and his brothers who decide in 1882 to settle in Tombstone after their cattle are rustled and their younger brother James is killed. Earp who had already served as a marshal gladly accepts the position in Tombstone along with brothers as deputies. Marshal Earp has several run-ins with Ike Clanton and his sons. When Earp is forced to kill Billy Clanton, it leads to the famous shoot-out at the OK Corral. Some critics have dubbed this film the finest western ever made, and certainly the film represents a high point in the careers of all involved. Ford’s excellent direction creates a perfect blend of drama, action, romance, and occasional comic relief. This original stone lithograph six sheet poster is linen-backed and in near mint condition.
MEXICALI ROSE (1939) 17370
Original Republic Pictures One Sheet Poster (27×41). Linen-backed. Very fine condition.
Original Republic Pictures One Sheet Poster (27x41) for the George Sherman “singing” western, MEXICALI ROSE (1939)—starring Gene Autry, Smiley Burnette, Noah Beery, and Luana Walters. This film turned out to be one of Autry’s best performances with non-stop action and great singing. Besides the title song, Gene also croons two other popular crowd-pleasers—“El Rancho Grande” and perhaps his most memorable song, “You’re the Only Star in My Blue Heaven.” This original one sheet poster is linen-backed and in very fine condition.
