SANTA CLAUS CONQUERS THE MARTIANS (1964) 19083

full.santaclausconquersthemartians-1sh-19083

Original Embassy Pictures One Sheet Poster (27×41) for the hilarious science fiction Christmas fantasy, SANTA CLAUS CONQUERS THE MARTIANS (1964) directed by Nicholas Webster and starring John Call, Leonard Hicks, and Vincent Beck. This amateurish, low-budget kids movie is generally considered to be one of the worst films ever made. Santa is kidnapped by distraught Martians with bad green makeup, dishwasher parts glued to their heads, and cheesy capes. The Martians are attempting to rescue their depressive and antisocial children by giving them toys. While the Martians were utterly ridiculous to adults, they unintentionally frightened many of the children in the audience. The film ends with pseudo-rousing “Hooray for Santa Claus” complete with subtitles that encourage the audience to sing along. Not many did. This original one sheet poster is in very fine condition with only tiny distresses at the fold intersections but with no separations at the fold lines.

full.theemeraldforest-1sh-191

Original Embassy Pictures One Sheet Poster (27×41) for the John Boorman adventure drama, THE EMERALD FOREST (1985)—starring Powers Boothe, Meg Foster, and Charley Boorman. Based on real life events and in the Tarzan tradition with an environmental twist, this film tells the story of young Tomme (Boorman), who is silently kidnapped by a native Brazilian tribe called the “Invisible People.” They bear no ill will toward the boy; indeed, they believe that he would be better off with them than with the “Termite People,” the name they give to the white men who devour all the trees. His father spends the next ten years searching for his son. He finally finds him, but the adventure is far from over. Apparently, John Boorman admits that C. Thomas Howell was his first choice for Tomme, but when he was unavailable, he gave the part to his son Charley, whose performance is nothing short of brilliant. This stunning one sheet poster is rolled and in very fine to near mint condition.
